RWHP show how much power is being delivered to the wheels. This takes into account all drive train losses.
Engine HP is measured at the flywheel. Depending on when it was tested and under what SAE guidelines, it may or may not include accessory drag. RWHP is usually more meaningful to modders
Is there a difference between the two? If so...can someone explain.
Thanks.
Engine HP is measured power directly from the engine with no drivetrain loss. Wheel HP is measured with drivetrain loss(transmission, etc). There is usually a 12-20% reduction from engine to wheel HP readings depending on the transmission .Most car co. state engine or BHP when selling you their cars.
Engine HP is measured based on the power the engine produces prior to running through the drive train (transmission/rear end). You lose HP at the drive train, more on an auto transmission than on a manual. Thus Rear Wheel HP is a measurement of what your car can put down to the street in terms of HP and Torque rather than the HP/Torque that the engine can measure on a bench in the shop.
For instance, on an '07 C6, the engine HP is rated at 400HP. The RWHP might be closer to 360+/- depending on build tolerances during engine manufacturing and whether the car is a manual or automatic.
Okay...I think I got it. Thanks for all the quick responses. -G
Your car has 450 rear wheel horse power and 400 rear wheel torque. Also your transmission is an RPM StageV that has been fully micropolished. The rear differential is also fully micropolished so your drivetrain loss will definitely be on the minimal side. Perhaps thats why your car (at the time) was the strongest head/cam car LPE had done to date.

Hey Matt I was wondering how long it would take you to get the Z up to LPE. What all did you have done?
I waited all summer and couldn't take it anymore. Got the LG headers and Bullets then sent it to LPE for their 616 package. Ended up with 527/493 so I'm pleased!
