Is this something that can be done as a core exchange? Does COW do this as a mailorder exchange? I am in Phoenix and am interested if anyone has any advise on someone local who will do this at a reasonable cost.

Thanks in advance.

I just spoke to Chuck and will be ordering mine after November 6th. Sounds like he is out of town at shows until around then. The install sounds straightforward enough and then I ship my core back for credit. I cannot wait!!

So is first gear still worth a damn on the street? This has been my only real concern regarding the swap.

No issues with first gear. Yes, you get out of it quicker but still quite useful in street driving. I have not taken it to the track but others have and I have heard nothing but good things on performance ... especially the 1st 60 ft numbers on the strip.

Just because you cant floor a car in the first gear(s) without loosing traction doesnt mean the gear is 'useless'. Not having the power in first to break the tires loose just means you will be slower in all other gears. I can break the tires loose sometimes in third if the car isnt pointing forward but that doesnt mean I dont enjoy a 4th gear runout with the power at hand.

You dont know how to drive a car without flooring it? You cant ride that thin line between the tires spinning and the car moving as fast as it can?

Useless
