Strange Corsa chrome problem
A month or so ago, I had a ported TB and intake put on and re-tuned. When they started the car after the mod, alot of blue black smoke came out for a minute or so. Anyway, after dyno and tuning, I noticed that the corsa tips were black. So, I tried to polish them and they never got back to my original bright finish and were a dull shine.
I have tried a polishing wheel and mothers chrome polish, white rubbing compound, laquer thinner and there is still a residue of some sort on them that keeps them from polishing up.
Any ideas of what happened to them? I have had my car dynoed before and never had the problem. The tuner told us to watch out for the smoke when he was about to start the car after putting on the TB and intake so he was aware that it would smoke on startup.
Whatever is on the pipe tips is very stubborn.

You could also call Corsa for advice and/or sending the tips back for polishing by them. btw---
I got a factory tour of Corsa and they got a big room where folks (in hazmat suits & hoods) do nothing but polish tips to a mirror shine, 24 hours a day.
