CCW told me they could "not" chrome plate their wheels, too slick. Which is why I purchased chrome 946 from WCC.
Interesting as WCC used to offer CCW wheels with an option to have them sent out for chrome. In the post I was referring to, it was stated that CCW drop shipped his wheels to CALICHROME. It would seem to be a simple thing to acid etch the wheels before chroming.
I was also concidering WCC wheels but they would not clear the ZO6 big break mod. Went with iForged Daytona from their Precision line.
What about your funny feeling. I like the *** end of the car as is. I was thinking about the wide end for more traction, but if it's really not all that necessary then I won't do it and save some money.
Rear end as in differential, not bodywork. lol
As far as you were talking about liking the lines of the car the way they are, I thought you were doing a widebody conversion?
I've revamped my list after doing some more research and taking in everyone's advice. Sorry it sounded like I bit your head off NavyC4S. I was going to do the wide body for more traction, but I don't think it's neccessary. Here is the new list.
1. A&A Vortech supercharger with hardened output shaft and DTE transmission brace.
2. Borla Touring exhaust. (Don't want anything too loud)
3. Some 1 7/8 headers (Still not sure which ones)
4. Callaway short shifter
5. Chrome Z06 wheels with Michillen PS2 tires
6. Sound deaden the interior + system
7. Tune
I was possibly thinking of doing a very mild cam that would keep to my goals of being civil, but being a beast when called upon. What would this entail?

I was just clarifying that the rear-end reffered to was the differential and I was confused when you started talking about the bodywork.
i think I finally got it lol. I sent an email to MTI racing in Houston where I live and this is what they suggested to make a beast that retains stock driveability.
- ATI D1SC Procharger with 60lb Injectors and Kenne Belle Boost A Pump
- Alkycontrol Methanol Injection Kit
- Kook's 1 7/8 Headers with 3 Inch Stainless Steel Catted Mid Section
- MSD 8.5MM Wires and NGK TR6 Spark Plugs
- Professional Installation and Full Wideband A/F Dyno Tuning
I'm going to still add the Callaway shifter and the PS2 tires + Z06 wheels.
Does anyone know if the Bassani exhaust will work with the Kook's headers?

Man,
You are gonna have a hell of a lot a power!! Suggest that you look into some traction addative! HOLD ON!!!!!!!!!!
Enjoy and be safe.

When are you having this done? I ask because I am considering similar upgrades to my 06, C6, A6, and I would love to hear how the mods work out for you as well as your impression of MTI.
I'll probably be having this done sometime in March. Right now I'm getting the interior redone and my system installed. I'd be more than happy to show you when its done and let you know about MTI. From what I understand they are a stand up shop.
I went with the APS Twin-Turbo on my 06/A6, also a 315 gear set. Install done by Dynotech in Fort Wayne, Indiana. One suggestion be sure you like the Bassani exhaust I have that also and you hear it ALL THE TIME.
Check this out....The guy uses a 3.15 rear diff with an A6 which is like having 4.30's in a M6 yet another guy further up the thread thinks 4.10's would be too much. 4.10's would slow down the rate of rotation per rpm and let the car re-hook faster than with 3.42's. Many S/C guys have 4.10's with no complaint...DGatto comes to mind. If you ever want to track the car get 3.90's since you will be making enough to easily outdo the top speed in 4th gear with 4.10's. By the way, Cartek ran 3.90's in their twin turbo car that ran 9.9's.
The clutch should be swapped out for a textrailia when the gears are done. The output shaft is 300 more.
I think he shoud keep the stock cam since the power developed will never get to the ground with street tires so a cam swap is more of what he doesnt need. If anything, I would swap the heads for the new LS3's. The exhaust is a bit overdone so I advise you to get that last. You may find the rest of the mods attract too much police attention as it is if the noise at cruise doesnt get to you first. In any event get a ride in a car before you choose the exhaust. A 3" is definitely not needed since the stocker flows so well. Using no exhaust at all gives you 5hp (samer as you get from cutouts)
DTE brace would save the transmission if the diff fails so I think its wortht he 380 bucks especially since the driveline is comming out for the clutch and gears anyway.
Not to change the subject of the thread or anything, but...
Actually, the price of the DTE C6 Strut Kits will go down in 2008 to $350 due to our re-engineering of laser cutting production cycle methods that save time. Good for all.

Now back to your regularly scheduled program.

Phil
will that include early'05 models? (ie. the first 10k c6 units)
If I was going to dump that kind of cash in my C6 at one time I think I'd just trade it in on a Z06. JMHO. I'll have 14k in mods in mine soon but I spread it out over about 9 months. Of course, knowing me if I picked up a Z06 I'd end up dumping a bunch of cash it to, so carry on.
