Callaway has a devoted following in the Corvette community because of the quality of their products, and their total commitment to Corvette. The BlueCoupe sports a Honker, plug wires and short-throw shifter so far.
I was pounding the gears all day today, what a joy, third gear miss shifts are in the PAST. Honestly, a novice driver behind the wheel can get it in third blasting down the 1/4.

And if you dont like the chrome ball, and dont want to use the stock shift handle (whats the point in replacing the shifter, if you can't see the difference as well as feel the difference) then get PipeDreams new white or black Hurst look alike shift ball. It fits perfectly on the stock shifter shaft or any other shifter that is set up to accept the stock shift handle. A less than 5 minute replacement. I think the feel is superior to the stock shift handle.

Is it available from Callaway only and how much does it cost? Is it the same part number for the LS7 as well?

Default Shifter chatter?

I installed my Callaway shifter not long ago and it is WAY better than stock. The only issue I have with mine is a minor one which is that it seems to chatter, or make a noise that sounds like it's coming from a vibration somewhere. Often, it's when I leave my hand on the shift so sometimes I just move my hand and the sound goes away. I've been told this is because it is a direct mount with no give so driveline vibration will come straight up through the shifter.

Anyone else have this? May it's the way I installed it?

Shifter vibration / chatter is a very common problem with these cars.....Trust me you are not the only one! Callaway is suppost to be one of the better ones as far as vibration goes though.

"...So the idea is to get a threaded aftermarket shifter ****"

Read your post.

The noise isn't only on shifters with the allen bolt. I already have the threaded **** on my Callaway shifter and still have the vibration.

It's not something that can't be fixed by radio + exhaust.

I ordered the Kirban and the Callaway both just to see the difference. Sitting side by side they look exactly the same, fell the same, every nut and bolt is the same, even the grease inside is the same color. I see no difference except the price. I paid $179 for the Kirban and $295 for the Callaway, thats $116 difference. I installed the Kirban today and have the Callaway sold to my brother ( I do the install) I will not be able to drive it for a few weeks as I sent my LG polished wheels off to LA to have them chromed, yes I am a lazy azz and hate polishing those wheels It took me about an hour to do the install and I discovered that my passenger side heated seat did not work as the plug was never plugged into the switch from the factory. I also installed my two tone black and cashmere leather seat covers. This took about 3 hour’s total.
On a side note I had to do no adjustment to the shifter. Is this normal or am I missing something.
I installed the shifter rod to the right instead of the left and it seems to be pulling the leather boot over a little. I do notice that it is a little stiffer going into reverse though.

Default Shifter adjustment

When you say no adjustment, do you mean regarding shifter alignment or that you didn't have to change adjust the throw limiting screws?

If you put it in as it, you don't "have" to adjust it, but you do "want" to. If you don't properly set the limiting screw then you can push the shifter beyond the limits it was designed to operated at.

I read the part that said use a card as the spacer, if it moved up freely, but could not see any place for it to go. Do I stick in in the hole with the greece? It will only take a few min. to pull the consol back off?

arround 1998 the company that was making the Saleen (ford mustang) body kits for Saleen realeased the kits at 1/2 price, people tought it was a copy from Saleen.
the question now: Callaway makes the shifters in house???? or sends it to some other company???

Put the car in 3rd gear. Then back off the forward locking nut. Now spin the adjuster bolt until you can see it touch the shifter. Back off the bolt slightly. Now insert a .10 feeler gauge right at the point the bolt touches the shifter handle, and finger tighten the bolt again. In 3rd gear the feeler guage should have a snug fit between the housing and the shifter handle. Now tighten the locking nut. Put the car in fourth gear and repeat the process on the rear of the shifter housing.

Now that you know how to take the console out (I got good at it the 4th time I had to take it out), it should only take about 30 minutes from beginning to end.

Thanks, it was the two screws under the emergency brake handle that I finally found so I could take off the side trim below the right side of the consol that made it easy. I put a towel on the dash to protect it from scratching when I pulled it off. I also applied red disc brake pad silencer on the metal piece that they supplied to make it assorb more sound. WOW, 4times.....I hope I can finish in one more time.
