Default Callaway short throw shifter

Just wondering if anyone has installed this shifter and any problems if any to report, and how difficult is it to change the shifter?

I don't have a Callaway but they all go in the same. Once you remove the console the rest is a piece of cake. I took me about an hour to install the B&M.

I had the callaway shafter in my C6 Z51 for 15 months and it is the best shafter out there, I just traded the car in for a Z06 and I am putting the shaft in the Z06

Excellent product! Works as advertised, and lives up to the acclaim it receives on this board. Love the aluminum ball!

Callaway won't admit it, but it's the same as the Kirban, so go with Kirban and save some $$$. I didn't realize this until after I bought the "Callaway". It works well though.

The callaway is not the same as the Kirban, I had the Kirban on my C5 and it was not even close to the Callaway shafter on my C6, the Callaway is a much better product

Callaway here and love it no complaints. I rate the job beginners basic tools. The kit comes with good instructions and I believe they have em on their website if you want a heads up on what your getting into.

I ordered the callaway shifter with the factory shifter **** set up and just had it installed no more than an hour ago. The c6 shifter ***** are none threaded and attach to the shifter handle via a small allen wrench screw, causing a slight chatter at certain rpms. The remedy would be to insert a rubber boot inside the shifter **** handle which would eliminate that slight chatter, or just purchase a c5 threaded **** and replace the c6 one which I don't like to..So the idea is to get a threaded aftermarket shifter **** or insert a small rubber boot in the shift **** if the latter is your choice..

Aside from this minor dilemma,, in the past I have owned many aftermarket shifters of various makes, this by far is the most positive, stable and solid yet not too notchy shifter. Missing third is a thing of the past and going in reverse, is now a pleasure. Once you have the console off check the two small factory rubber bushings that dampen the shifter (don't know what you call them) on the right side of the shifter. Mine are worn and need replacement, they should be made of polyurathane, however you will probably feel more vibration from the shifter , hence the factory's rubber set up. Man what a shifter

I would like to believe that they are not the same since I actually paid more for the Callaway. Callaway denies that they are the same but when asked to elaborate on the differences they do not respond.

Since callaway own's the callaway shifter patent, do you really think they are going to divulge the difference between the two? Kirban is Kirban, Callaway is Callaway..you are not suggesting that callaway is secretly selling their shifter to a sub aftermarket company named Kirban? If that is the case I am not taking chances, and going with callaway and will spend the extra $70 bucks.. Chump change..

I'm well aware of the need to protect proprietary information, however in this case I believe Callaway is using their good reputation to jack up the price. It would be nice if a Callaway rep would come on the record to say that there are in fact tangible differences (not just that the instructions say "Callaway")

It would be great to see detailed side-by-side pictures of the 2 of them to see just how similar they are......

I believe there was a side-by-side comparison. They appear to be the same. Do a search (Callaway Shifter).

Naturally it gets hotter in direct sun than the stock or a plastic ****, but it cools off fast. The heft of the aluminum ball adds to the solid, connected feel of this shifter. I love it.

Callaway has a devoted following in the Corvette community because of the quality of their products, and their total commitment to Corvette. The BlueCoupe sports a Honker, plug wires and short-throw shifter so far.
