I'm in the process and will run about 10k by the time all is said and done. That includes wheels, tires, brakes and body. Not for the faint of heart for sure. Still looking for a rear sway bar.
I know the average Joe isnt paying anything near what you paid for paint but my question has more to do with the total investment: In a collision, would the insurance company reimburse you for the money invested on the upgrades assuming you have receipts for all parts and labor?
I know many people have opinions but I know there are quite a few insurance professionals on this forum board that can answer without guessing.

Im not insurance pro, but it happened to me before on another car.
I can only speak for VA (other states may have different rules), the insurance companies will ONLY pay for OEM equipment that matches the VIN. Some insurance companies have what I am told is called "riders" on the policy that can cover modifications, but those riders arent cheap.
So, in a wreck, if a body panel is damaged, they insurance will only give you what it costs to repair/replace the original. If it costs more to repair/replace the addon, then you pay the difference.
It might just be me, but I'd do the panels if I needed the room for wheels/tires/brakes,etc. I couldn't do the badges. I bought a C6, not a Z06. I'm not trying to rain on anybody's parade, just posting my opinion.
