I took my car in to RPM Motors yesterday for Charlie to look at some shifting issues that it had. He got in the car, plugged in his magical lap top and loaded in a new program that made the car feel like a totally different car. The shifts are firm but smooth and at the optimon rpm's. The car has never run so good and that's with not touching the engine tune that he had done over a year ago. Any of you A6 owners will love the improvements. Another success story accomplished by "Charlie Da Tuna"
do you have to watch hard shifts in the corners now. had a grand national valve body mod done and 1st to 2nd felt like getting hit in the back of the head with a 2 by 4. even with light throttle the car was dangerous in the rain. had to get another tranny guy to soften the shift. i have an 08 and sometimes the upshifts feel like i lifted off the gas, when i did not. would not mind a little more snap.

Have a tune on my vette as well and yes I have to be careful around turns when transmission shifts. Even if pulling out to pass someone if I give it too much gas before it straightens up the wheels will start to spin and the car will get sideways. Scared the pi$$ out of me the first time that happned so...BE CAREFUL.
What excatly is it that you are doing and what software are you using? My tuner uses the newest version of HP Tuners and we have changed my shift points so that it shifts at around 2000 rpm in each gear and we have disable TM (Upshift, Power downshift, CT downshift and Garage shift). This has made a big difference in how the tranny responds. Are you doing something else in addition to this? If so, how can a guy in California get this done?

You would have to ask Charlie what he does to make it work so well, I never thought to ask because I wouldn't expect him to tell me. The tune he did on my tranny was similar to one that he had done on a previous car and the owner liked it, as did I
Curious question though, while I realize the TM in up and down shifting would be awesome to disable, is there any performance (or otherwise) benefit to disabling it for CT and Garage? My thoughts were that, especially with garage shifting, it might be good to leave it enabled so you don't jar the hell out of you and the car while still stationary.
I was one of the few that didnt like the TM removed from my set up. I have 315 gears and I thought it was to herky jerky in the shifts for a DDer. Maybe my gearing made it more jerky.

I still have My TM removed,and I'm still liking it!{3.15's as well}
I'll have to drive it some more to really test it!
