Have a friend that has a paddle shift with a Corsa exhaust system. Trying to install the shorty cats design by Kooks to hook up with the Corsa x-pipe. Doesn't align very well. Anyone have problems with this set up and any solutions.
We never really have complaints on these. I know this sounds dumb..but have you made sure they are not on the wrong sides. Also, have you loosened the exhaust to give you some play. There is really not much to the pipes for something to be misaligned honestly.

I installed my Kooks and had to use a Kooks x pipe because the Corsa one did not fit the Kooks. I don't have cats and I have a MV6, so I don't know if there is a difference, but the Corsa x-pipe did not fit, so I went with Kooks x pipe. Nick @ Straightline performance saved my butt on that one!!!
Make sure you have the right side, then spin them until the 02 sensors are on top and inside. They will be fairly close to each other. Also, don't tighten the cats until you have the H pipe aligned. It's a little tricky, but they fit fine. PS When I installed mine, I started with the entire exhaust removed and worked my way back !

I am in the middle of the same installation this weekend, and have the same problem. I figured that the o2 sensors have to be on top, so there is only one way to put the cats on as far as left and rights go. The Kooks direction sheet sucks. So much for "So easy a cave man could do it" by the vendor.
Additionally, has anyone tried loosening the exhaust as I suggested above. The Corsa exhaust has several slip fit connections..and if you lossen the connections..you should be able to really get some adjustment room in and out, and side to side. Think of it this way...there are four slip fit connections on the Corsa exhaust with X-pipe. That means that there is a ton of variance in the system, and the odds of it being installed with the pipes slid togethor the exact same way as Kooks did when the designed the parts is very slim. An over the axle pipe slid in 1/2 in different than Kooks had on their car can create a big difference at the X-pipe connection.
What I would do is loosen the whole exhaust. Then attach the Kooks connection pipes to the headers..and then adjust the exhaust at the slip fits till you can get Corsa X-pipe connected to the Kooks setup. Then tighten from the front backwards checking for clearance. There are a lot of ways that exhaust can be creating a misalignment issue at the X-pipe.
As for the install, for what it is...it is dirt simple. Headers on C6 header is the easiest of any vehicle we sell parts for. I still have scars on my hands from all the GTO header installs I have done...droping the rack soaked in powersteering fluid As for the short Corsa connection pipes if they do not fit, we need pictures so we can understand what is preventing it from fitting. These parts are made in a jig..so of all the parts in the system..I would say they have the lowest chance of variance when you look at the slip fits in the Corsa catback.. I have several customers who have the Corsa connections and are happy. That being said, you guys spent a lot of money and deserve to be happy. If you can provide me with more details of the issue (a decent picture says 1000 words)..it would make things much easier.
Thanks!

Thanks, Branden.
I'll pass this on to my friend. He may have them on the wrong side but they were labeled with stickers from Kooks. Maybe they got mislabeled.
I'm just trying to ask questions for him. I have not seen the install yet.
He had them put on by a mechanic. Maybe that's part of the problem.
Some of the biggest disasters we have are when people go to "parts changer" mechanics..who mangle stuff up and then play the "I've been a mechanic since Lewis and Clarke crossed the untamed US card". There is a big difference between a mechanic you get going to one of the specialized vendors on the left, and the ones at the local Jiffy Lube or whatever.
