Default LS3 Auto Basline dyno numbers

I went to Advanced and got a couple baselines on the C6. Robert and crew were great to work with.

I have an A6 with the 2.73 and NPP. Mods are a K&N CAI(Includes reflectix heat guard and propped shroud) and a 160T.

Baselines were made back to back and with the hood closed a few minutes after I arrived. 396whp and then 398whp/393tq! It was at 11.7::1 across all rpms. Explains the 119.5mph traps I guess.

Wow, that's some SERIOUS power for a very lightly modded automatic, as much as 25+rwhp / 20+rwtq over pure bone stock.

Oh I would assume that it's corrected, I'm pretty sure that no one in this day and age would actually try and pass off the raw/uncorrected dyno numbers as their true results.

While I may agree that they don't totally suck as some might believe they have gotten the reputation for being somewhat of a 'hot air intake' LOL...and this is what has me wondering what the car could've dyno'd with a Vararam or similar CAI.

I was just messing around...since it's basically vararam or nothing on this site, lol. (I bought myself a K&N also)

I wouldn't go that far....some might do it without knowing either. There is STD, SAE, actual, etc. Then they forget to mention what type of dyno, etc. When they post, it's STD from a mustang dyno, corrected to dynojet. Maybe accurate, maybe not. I'm not referring to 11secondGP, just from what I'm sure we've all seen on the net.

Vararam mades very little on the Dyno. But that doesn't mean anything
because they work great once moving!

True, but the K&N CAI likely doesn't make all that much more than stock on the dyno either.

For me it did help. I might go back and do a stock tune/stock filter pull to see what the difference is. Im guessing ~10whp.

True, it really had to help at least some because there is no way that a near stock (ie: t-stat and opened shroud only) LS3 automatic is making 398rwhp all by itself...I too would guess that it's likely about a 10rwhp gain from the K&N.

Do they?
I thought the only bone stock automatic LS3 dyno numbers we've seen were in the 370/371rwhp range?

I think those numbers came of the Mustang Dyno's not DYNOJET dyno's

my MN6 dyno's on a DYNOJET 392rwhp, bone bone stock

I believe Vararams don't really do much on the dyno.. it seems on the road is where they really shine.
