did u consider slotted brake discs vice cross-drilled?
i heard that slotted grooves give better cooling/stopping perf. than cross-drilled discs on the track. coupled with dot-9 brake fluid. a professional race driver inspected my c6/z51 stock discs, and said the main reason gm puts them on is for show - yes, they do look really cool.

You nailed that. I've had both and I'd opt for aluminum hat two-piece slotted or solid rotors. I can't say yea or nay to the GM ceramic pads as I haven't used them, but i'm guessing aftermarket pads that are available would be my choice. I'd also think about upgrading the calipers themselves. I need to post in the Z06 forum and ascertain if people are actually tracking (open course) the Z06 brakes successfully without problems. I think I'll do suspension and braking before I do any power upgrades.
