Had a Hurst short throw shifter installed almost two years ago with my first round of mods. Heard so many good things about the Callaway unit, I thought I'd give it a shot due to all the low RPM while under load chatter. I have a Hurst pistol grip **** which made the chatter even worse. Had the Callaway unit installed last week and even with the after market Hurst pistol grip ****, not even a whisper of chatter. Thanks Callaway, you make one fine shifter!
Good to hear. Mine just arrived for Christmas. Wife wont let me have it until then. But that is OK with me. You have a Hurst pistol grip. How did you fit it to the Calloway? Any thoughts on a Hurst T Handle?

You can purchase the Callaway either 1) set up for the OEM ****, or 2) order it threaded. I ordered my threaded. The Hurst pistol grip was available with the same thread pattern. I think the T handle is available from Hurst as well. If you do not have the threaded shifer, I am unsure if there is such a thing as a Callaway supplied shaft for a retrofit. You could probably find a tool and die man to get you threaded as well. For me, the Hurst pistol grip handle has a very comfortable and confident feel to it.
Interesting that the Callaway shifter looks identical to a Kirban Shifter, that sells for between $169 and $200 depending on where you find it. No doubt a great shifter, everyone I have talked to that has it loves it. I have a BM in my new Z and its notchy and rattles under acceleration. I have a new Kirban on the shelf thats going into the car once the rain stops here long enough for me to get it to my shop.
