Hi,
After reading at some length about the paddle shift auto trannies having some problems with premature failure, I was wondering if this problem exists for each year, or is it primarily for a specific year? In other words, were 2006s generally ok, but 2007s were not?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Glen
My 2006 A6 is great, no problems at all and it's supporting 450/405 to the wheels and has about 100 drag strip passes and a few thousand miles. So far, so good....knock on wood...
Transmissions are like women. Only time will let you know how they'll react. Some you have to pamper & some like to be driven hard. However, any one of them can crap out in a heartbeat. My advise is to be patient. Most of the time, they're the best thing ever!
Thanks for the responses. I guess it's like everything else, one reads about the trouble that some folks are having and leap to the conclusion that "everyone" is having the same trouble.
I guess it makes a pretty strong point for buying either an extended warranty, or getting a vehicle that has a longer warranty (2007, 2008) to start with.

I had a 2006 Auto and I put 31.000 on her And Close to 100 Runs at the Drag Strip But I went to a 2008 Z06 . But if thy but a Auto in one Yes A Z06 I would love it
I had a glitch in my A6 paddles where it did not work. However after posting and talking to the gang, it was identified as the trans will not shift while in a turn for safety reasons.
No problems and is a trans I would recommend and that is coming from a life long Manual trans person. One test drive and I was sold on the A6.
2006 A6 owner here, 12,000 miles and no problems. In a recent poll, nearly 90% of folks with A6's are having no problems (http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1790298). On forums such as this, a lot of times you only hear about the bad things, and not the good.
