i took delivery of a beautiful black '08 a6 oct 1 and was hit by a driver with no insurance on nov. 27th.......barely 2000 mi on the odometer.i need a GREAT corvette dealer ( somewhere near- if possible) to evaluate and handle all repairs correctly, trouble is i dont know one, my insurance adjustor doesnt and my corvette buddies havent had damage. i'm hoping the membership can help me with this. i'll appreciate any and all suggestions from you. i live in miami, fla. thanking you in advance...
I don't think I'd limit my search to Chevy dealers.
Our Chevy dealer messed up a simple door/rear fender replacement on my daughter's '99 Coupe. After three attempts on their part to get it right, the insurance company sent me to a Cadillac dealer that did a fantastic job. I'm sure there are independent body shops that specialize in Corvettes in your area that you should consider too.
PS A driver in Miami with no insurance??? I've never heard of such lawlessness...

Call my brother he lives just north of you and has an 06 GTO. He just had it painted because of an original bad factory paint job. They did a great job. 772-342-6655
Hey Ed, sorry again about your car man, I'll ask around here too, a dealer is good if you want to match your orange peel I'm sure GM would have trained them well in that aspect.... I had damage on my 98 vert when I had that and the guy I took it too did so much overspray it wasnt funny. definitely get to look at their work before deciding. I'll give you a call over the weekend.

you know, i gave what you said some thought, and some things made sense. 1-they are GM 2-they deal with high end vehicles 3-and they do have a vette like convertible 4-they are GM certified. anyway, i went by williamson cadillac today they sit on what looks like a city block and they sent me to their repair center in south dade county. their facilities were as big as the dealership and you can eat off the floors-its that clean and new. they have a dedicated person that just handles my insurance co. i have a meeting with the shop's director monday. if i like what he tells me i may do the work with them. it looks like a class act.thanks for your suggestion...i'll keep you informed

I feel your pain, I also took delivery of an 08 Black z51, alos live in Miami. Purchased car out of state. Maybe Maroone??
Hey Ed,
I was at maroone today for some warranty work, they have a body shop in Pemboke Pines, they did my 3 new roofs and the color was a good match, can't say about what they do otherwise though. Personelaly I think they should change their name to moron e, I just don't like their service dept. I did get good service form the body shop though. If you call there ask for Beverly.
David.
had the same thing happen to me a week ago. Almost 11k worth of damage. I went with a shop that deals with custom cars. Theyve done work for me before, but nothing like the extent of the damage occured. They're friendly and worked with me so that instead of having back to stock, i get it back with a full cf z06 widebody. Ill post pictures after its complete, but lead time on the widebody parts is about 5 weeks.

Since you live in Miami..I would try Kelley Chevrolet. They did my wide body conversion and I was happy with the results. Their body shop is huge and clean with some of the best spray booths. Don't limit yourself or your options and think you must bring it to a Chevy dealer. You have one of the best body shops near you(not a Chevy dealer). Ravenswood Body shop in Hollywood. Some of the best paint I've ever seen. They build custom cars and show cars. If I knew about them before I had my work done,That would have been my first choice. Good luck
Find out who repairs the exotic cars in your area. I know that the Porsche, MB, Lambo, Aston Martin guys all go to the same body shop here locally, so thats where I went to get my Porsche painted, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results.
