2008 Vert Upgrades
Is the NPP better than an aftermarket exhaust?
I don't want to go too expensive ($5k) or too extreme.
Also, I've read some threads that have acronyms for upgrades and being new I don't know all of them, so if you have suggestions let me know what ths letters stand for, thanks

Is the NPP better than...? very subjective. some who have bought it, love it and possibly even better than aftermarket such as Borla, Corsa, etc. some who don't have it, but have aftermarket, like theirs better and feel NPP is an expensive bauble. oh well...
give some insights on what you're asking and maybe how you use the car, or expect to.

An intake and underdrive pulley (I haven't looked to see if they available for the LS3) won't void a warranty. If you are getting an A6, you can put 3.15 or 3.42 gears in it.
If you get the F55 with an M6, throw some 4.10s in the back and updrade the differential. Add a beefier clutch and drag radials so you can launch the car much closer to its true potential.
well spent go with headers,( there all very good) 160 stat, air intake system, ( of which there are many), and a good tune. Ballpark is about $2800. On an LS3 you should be over 410rwhp. For a little more, a good street cam, Like a 224/228/581/588/114LSA's not a PAINT SHAKER and springs will make a big difference, and be very streetable.
You must keep in mind that this modding thing is like heron to an addict.
I started with headers,160 stat ,catback, and a tune. Next was a cam. Next a FAST 90 manifold. Then a set of ET heads. My LS2 was making 461rwhp/435rwtq and it was a daily driver. 28MPG and ran strong. You'ed think that would be it enough. Now I have a forged 427 in my 05 Z51 and it's still my daily driver. You can see this modding thing can just keep going. I'm as far as I want to go. It seems that when you ask people they tell you that they got used to how the car went and wanted another level of performance. Food for thought.
