50HP EXTRA for LS3's!
Should idle and cruise just like an LS3.

So, what is the downside of this cam?

I can understand that GM would not make it a stock part as it would then have a $70K Z06 with 505 HP and a $50K base C6 with 486 HP and how many folks would step up $20K for 19 HP?

On the other hand, for less than $800 installed (I would hope), and extra 50 HP looks pretty tempting.

This cam has pretty low lift intake wise compared to the stock LS3 cam! The LSA is not shown but if it is around 112 like the older HOT cams... the idle is pretty rough ...I know I tried running one a couple years ago. I would rather see an LS3 derivative with about the same intake and exhaust duration as the LS7 cam; narrow up the LSA to about 117-118; top it off with .570-.590 lift ground in the cam.

Those specs sound like the LS1 Hotcam (112 LSA with no advance) No problem to make it idle decently in an M6 at 800 - 850 rpm, but A6 cars might need to be tuned before you start with the beer

Downside is the cam has slow ramps which makes it easier on the valve springs but leaves power on the table. For cars that seem to get driven 10k miles or less a year, I'd go with some fast ramps and more lift. Also, its a big split and if you add headers you won't need that big a split.

210/230 117 is -14 overlap at .05. That's pretty small for 6.2l even with stock manifolds, although it would be a no brainer to tune to pass CA emissions. I agree on getting more lift something like an XFI/Xer lobe would get the most area under the curve.
