A NEW CATEGORY?

I think he deserves to be on the list. It is an LS block in a C6 not a ZO6 or any other car. Maybe next to his time it can say (LS7 Motor) to make some of you happy.

Sounds like some of the East Coast guys are worried about their records. The LS7 motor is no different than people putting bored/stroked high compression LS2/3 motors in their C6. There are many of those that are putting down much more power than an LS7, especially one like yours that is bone stock down to the airbox.

Hey Subfloor if you were at ATCO wouldn't this have been a 10.4xx run?

We all know that and LS7 is rated at 505bhp, how many LS2's and LS3's out there with heads and cam are making more power than that?

If displacement is an issue, it was just a matter of time before somebody posted a time with a stroker motor. I find it strange that it took so long, we did our first A6 402 stroker build in March of 2006. What about somebody who builds an 427cui motor using and LS7 Block and LS3 heads? Do they have to compete with other LS7's? What's going to happen when somebody builds a real motor, like a LSx or Warhawk? We have a 468cui LSx, C5R headed, solid roller, 13.5:1 Compression motor sitting in the shop. If I put that in a C6 what class would that have to be in?

What if Christopher would have built a stock displacement LS3 with high compression, All Pro Headed, Single Plain Intake, Solid Roller motor that runs race gas? I can guarantee that motor would make more on nuts than an LS7 with heads and a cam, would that motor have to compete with LS7's as well, even though it's smaller displacement, and an LS3 block?

You can't have too many rules, especially based on motor combinations, and the way the the list is put together seems pretty upfront and straight foreward. Based on model "C6" and "Z06", then further broken down by "Stock" "Bolt on" "Internally Modified" "Power Adder". You can't cry unfair just because it's an LS7 Block and heads, if that seems wrong to you, then they'd be a dozens of other combinations that should as well.

Just because it's an LS7 motor doesn't mean he should complete in the Z06 class either. The Z06's have other distinct advantages such as a lower weight and stronger differential.

Keep the list as it stands, Chassis model based, than broken down by engine modifications.

BTW: Christopher congradulations, keep those times coming, and let god sort them out.
its very simple! here is 2 examples of lists c5Z06 list and c5 list the rules of the corvette forum fast lists have been adopted from LS1 tech rules, the main bolt/on rule, (stock motor) uniformity among the lists must be maintained

Please post as much info as you can like car type(coupe, FRC, vert, z06) and breakdown of runs (slips/vids if possible). Please post info within your post instead of saying "in sig" so I can link it to the list.

I will post your ET and MPH and link your post to display the details

Also, please only one entry per category for obvious reasons. Exceptions may be made for completely different setups.

Sounds like some of the East Coast guys are worried about their records. The LS7 motor is no different than people putting bored/stroked high compression LS2/3 motors in their C6. There are many of those that are putting down much more power than an LS7, especially one like yours that is bone stock down to the airbox.

Hey Subfloor if you were at ATCO wouldn't this have been a 10.4xx run?
well with a 100 more rwhp it should have been a 9.6, anyone can come here if its so great, as you can see the c5 generation has worked this out many years ago

I would actually love to come out there and visit/race. Seem like there are a bunch of fun smack talking Vette people there. AZ-NJ is sooooooo far. I have actually thought about shipping my car there, then driving it home. I have friends and family out there so I could make a vacation out of it.

I know your his buddy and all but PLEASE!

This is a LS7 motor, NOT a LS2/LS3. This list is full of nothing but LS2/LS3`s. The people and tuners on this list worked hard to get their combo`s, now we should just let someone with a motor that never came in a C6 enter the same list? Give me a break. The LS7 motor is a ZO6 motor, period.

How in the hell are you going to have a LS7 on a C6 list full of nothing but LS2/LS3? The C6 didn`t come with a LS7. The ZO6 came with an LS7. When guys have heads and cam done to there LS2/LS3`s we can compair results of how the mods worked because its a LS2/LS3, not a LS7......Apples to Apples...Not Apples to Oranges.

Maybe even a 10.3x...like it or not, whatever that time slip reads, that is the number that the car ran. This applies to passes at Atco as well as those at Sacramento (where the racing conditions/air quality can be quite favorable as well I might add ).

Yes it can go on the list with the LS9 but it would have to be in the power adder category

Motor aside, the vehicle in question IS a C6, it is not a Z06. If this is to be called a C6 quarter mile list it should be capable of dealing with C6's which have non LS2/LS3 motors in their C6 chassis, otherwise it should be the LS2/LS3 list.

Thats fine, but he should NOT be included in the Stock/bolt ons/Heads and cam list.

He is in a different class. I am not saying for them not to put him on the list but what I am saying is they need to start a different category for him to compete in.

I agree that he shouldn't be considered stock, and I highly doubt Chris is trying to claim that category. Internal engine mods works or Power Adders.

Neither will do. He is N/A so that cancelles power adders. He can`t be internals because he doesn`t have the same motor that everyone on the list has.

New class.

He is in a different class. I am not saying for them not to put him on the list but what I am saying is they need to start a different category for him to compete in.
Tony, agree 100% with you on that and don't see any way possible that can be argued.

How about a Ford GT 5.4L?
Well that depends on what 'all good' is. Certainly not as a bolt on, but one thing that's going to happen on this car is that people are going to put different motors in it and they may not be OEM motors which came in the car. If this lists intention is to provide accurate information to the community then it shouldn't exclude a C6 just because that C6 has got a different block that it shipped with in it.

But, I guess it is what it is.
Yeah I'm with you, it's hard to lump all motors together for internal modifications. I'd hesitate to say there should be another group, because IMO that's Tommy's call as ultimately he's the one who's going to be maintaining it in the near future. Perhaps a non-C6-Stock block class. . but even that sounds kind of overkill to me.

Why not a twin turbo Ford GT 5.4L? Where do we draw the line and say, this build is not abiding by the rules!

No discredit to Subfloor on his build, and certainly not saying he shouldn't be on the list, however it is an injustice to all the other folks who set records based on the rules set forth by the fast list, and his should certainly be under a new category.

The world changes daily and so do the builds, technology is never at a stand still and nor should it exclude the fast list. Start a new category for the radical and hybrid builds.

Well if you meant N/A then he doesn`t qualify for that either. Check the Z06 section, they have LS7`s over there.

It's already been proven that you can tune, then detune your car and still call it BONE STOCK. Couldn't find a smilie for sarcasm.

All kidding aside, there are times where some sort of hybrid catagory should come into play.
