That's true....also why I wish I had a track that displayed 60' times so I'd know when to stay in it and when not to since I can only make two full passes before getting kicked out, lol.

Ask them to do it. The software will do it they just need to choose time trial mode. I have made good relationships being nice to the folks in the tower.

I doubt they'll change their setup. Track owners don't seem to give a damn about what is actually happening.

Both tracks are run very poorly even though HRP (now royal purple) is a mainstream NHRA track.

Poorly is putting it mildly Shawn. No matter how long cars have been in the staging lanes they run motorcycles ahead of cars. They had a break down one time along with other delays while I waited an hour and 20 minuts. A group of motorcycles came up after all this waiting time and went ahead of me.

Not only that but even the staging lanes will run one lane double to another lane. I've seen cars come up after I and go before me. RPR has not concept of first come first serve. I only go to that track now when I want a new time slip. And that's rarely.

I agree 100%...I truly hate going to RPR for the reason you described. Lonestar is run MUCH better (still has issues), but they are open too infrequently and shut down too often. Also, the track isn't as good and the altitude is a bit higher (about 250 feet I believe)

It's a damn shame that we live in one of THE biggest hot-rodding cities and can't get a decent track.

I definitely don't ever go to RPR (HRP for those listening in from elsewhere) for fun.

Default 2010 Grand Sport (430 HP) A6 Coupe Showroom Stock.

This is my first Corvette which I ordered. I did not think 6 HP was worth the money for the NPP so I passed on that. Considering I weigh approx. 260 lbs. with clothes, a full tank of gas and the weight of the GS; I think I did alright at Capitol Raceway in Maryland.

4. Year Corvette= 2010
5. Type of Trans= A6
6. Type of Suspension= Stock
7. Stock Performance Options= None
8. Tires Utilized= Stock
9. Modifications if any= None
10. Dyno Numbers if you have them= None
11. As much info you may want to add about the run, launch techniques, tire air pressure & etc

Cold tire pressure was 30 psi all around. Time slip was with the traction control "off" but I was just .01 slower in the 60 ft. with the traction control "on". I cleaned my tires off with a slight burnout than did two dry hops on my way to the tree. The first dry hop spun but the second one hooked. I launched at approx. 1000 rpm in S mode for the whole trip.

I like Capitol Raceway, they say if you can run the number there you can run it anywhere. My bracket car was always a tenth or so faster at Cecil Raceway and traction was always better at MIR (Example: The only change was I cut a hole in the shroud for fresh air and went a 12.01 @ 117.15 on 3/4/2011 at Cecil with the Grand Sport)

neither do I, we don't use DA here, so I had to use the Internet and some calculators (track does not have any weather information available). Elevation is about 330 feet, temperature about 63 F, DA (according to calculations) 437 feet.

How much tuning has your car had?

Those figures for elevation and temp are pretty good. With your setup I would think you would be running quite a bit quicker unless it's just very slow shifting.

The car is tuned, but there's surely room for improvement. Basically it's tuned by a Hungarian shop. The track is not a fast one. A Z06 on stock tires ran a 12.3@118, another one on drag radials 11.7@123, both had Vararam and tune. That's me driving my Corvette, the shifts could be quicker, but I think they are not too slow.

For an intake/tune Z06 on drag radials to run 11.7@123 that is pretty much in line with your car running 11.9@121

Yes, and my car should make about 450-460 rwhp, so there's no big difference between an intake/tune Z06 an my car. I could be a bit faster, since it's a very conservative tune, but I can't see myself running quite a bit quicker.

I just don't understand how you guys are cutting sub 2.0 sixties in the A6. My DA is crap (5000+ on any given day), but all I can get out of it is 2.1. No spinning, from no throttle to WOT and it just feels like the car can't get out of it's own way.

It's an 08 BTW (showroom stock). My best time at the moment is 8.6 @ 87.5mph w/ a 2.15 sixty. This was brake stalling to about 1500 rpm.

I've had some good results with this formula when my C6 A6 was stock. Don't brake stall. Do a good burn out. Come out at idle or maybe 800-900 rpm depending on track prep. Front Tire pressure at 38 lbs and rear tire pressure at 26 lbs. With this formula I was cutting 1.8 annd 1.9's.

Torque management on stock cars is very bad.

Try rolling into the gas and you'll blow the tires away versus just punching it WOT immediately. Learn to roll into it quickly with minimal wheel spin and you'll be set.

Remember, No wheel spin results in slower 60's than having controlled wheel spin. You need the tires to be spinning a bit to get the RPMs up.

Default My $.02

Take this for what it's worth!!! but I have found that 30 psi (cold) in the stock rear tires worked the best for me. My best so far on the stockers has been a 1.86. Radial tires work a little different then other tires and may need more pressure rather than less to a certain point. They have what they call tire shock which flattens the tire on take off and that maybe the reason. I tried 25/26 psi and my best at that tire pressure was a 2.xx 60 Ft.

Bottom line is you need to experiment to see what works best for you. Oh, if your car starts to spin a few feet out than as suggested, try walking down on the throttle at different rates. Also I have come out of the hole at a dead idle and my car takes a little bit of a nose dive before picking back up; so around a grand launch works for me.

PS: I thought 1.8's were bad because I am used to low 1.4's.---Fat Man

The real answer here for good 60' times is seat time. Every track and each session has conditions where the driver has to learn to compensate. Almost always my best times come at the end of the day, if I can get 4 or more passes.

That was my approach as well, my best bone stock sixty foot was 1.88 and my best before the converter (with just Vararam, tuning and tires) was a 1.78 or 1.79 I think.
