Optimal, I think most of your problem as other have said is your power braking to 1500 rpm.... Here a video of a 12.06 run with a 1.87 60ft time. My car is an 08 A6 2.56 gears and stock, the shroud was propped open on this run. I was at 28 lbs cold in the rears and just did a dead mash to the floor at the green from idle...

With regard to short times:
I would expect the GS to have a better short time than the base model as it has wider tires (I do not recall if they are the new GY with a sticker compound)

I do not think the our run craps tend to flatten out as like a regular radial...... maybe a bit but not much & most of us have run with the base tires ...... (not the Z51 rubber when we were stock)

In any event you always have to adjust the air pressure & launch to track conditions.

Did I hastely look at the fast list for LS3s, and not a lot of fast listers with the rear end gearing swap??LS3 internal mod list-- mn6

 

Please add to the= External Engine Modifications Grand Sport (Bolt-ons) section.

First time at Cecil County Dragway this year. 260 lb. driver & approx. 5/8 tank of 93 octane gas. The "only" modification from total stock is a "Home Made" CAI. Not bad IMHO for just a CAI on the 430 HP LS3 Grand Sport. Exactly 3 tenths lower ET than stock.

This is the "Home Made" CAI. It was a lot "prettier" before I added the 3M rubber seal to the 3 sided painted black aluminum air box to keep "any" dust from getting into the engine compartment which is most likely NOT NEEDED for performance. Without the 3M seal it looked as good or better than OEM in my book i.e. had a more finished look, the fit between the air box which drops though the shroud approx. 1/2" and shroud was a fairly tight fit. One sided sticky foam rubber was used to seal the front of the intake to the core support.

PS: Made In America by one, real cheap too, approx. $10 if you use the intake assembly that came with the car and no water will get into this CAI; it's above the grill opening and the rectangle hole in the front core support. It also removes as quick and easy as stock, same attachments and you can now get to the front of the radiator to clean the bugs out. Is this the best thing since sliced bread or what?

Note: The aluminum was bent on my table vise using an oxy-acetylene torch to warm the metal so that it would not crack/tear on the 90 degree bends.

 

Thats almost identical to my runs with the propped shrould...
