Today was the annual New Year's Day race at Sacramento. The DA was approximately -1000 ft when we started running and had we been able to run 1/4 mile it would have easily been a high 9 second pass.

Haven't filled out one of these in quite a while so please let me know if I missed anything.

Well it's certainly not much of a difference and a long way from expectations/capabilities, but here it is.

I was having some mis-fire issues at some point on every pass. Sometimes on the launch, but usually around mid-track. I managed to make 7 passes under 11.00. The best was the 10.8023 @ 126.84 on a 1.5422 launch (mis-fire on launch) and then the 10.8026 @ 124.87 on a 1.5157 60' (mis-fired several times on the back half). It should have run 10.7's easily and more likely into the 10'6's, since I had run 10.92 in Phoenix with 2100' air last April.

So back in Phoenix I pulled the plugs, hoping that was the cause of the mis-fires under heavy load. They weren't too good. Only 1 of the 8 had a full electrode remaining that was at the correct .040 gap. The other 7, which ranged from .072 to .080 gap, had the iridium tip completely missing, but still fired OK during normal driving. I guess I should have changed plugs before the trip, instead of rear hubs. It was kind of a disappointment to make a 1700 mile round trip with the assumption that the 100,000 mile plugs would still be good enough after 50K of use.

Still have your 08 Tom! Congratulations on a new best. And especially considering the condition of your plugs. I would have thought you to have 200K miles on your car by now. I believe you had about 80K when you came to see me.

I have a 2013 CTS-V now. If I can get the weather right I think it's going to out perform my 08.

Nice times Tom those plugs are known for that the why I use copper tr55 tr6, was it running lean, hard to tell what you would have ran but with the 1.4 s 60 ft it would be 10.6s for sure maybe 10.5s

I've slowed down my long road trips for the last 3 years and currently at 122K.
There was a V at Sacramento running 10.4's, just so you know it's possible. Keep having fun.

AFR from 4K up is holding firm in the 12.6-12.7 range. I suspect the plug problem has been there for a while and slowly gotten worse. I probably need to check lower speed AFR. All things considered, I still had a fun trip and squeezed out a couple more hundredths.

New plugs are in now, so I'll see what happens tomorrow night. Expected DA to be around 1100', so I'm going full weight street trim and a full tank of gas too. If I can run a 10 at 3350#, I'll be real happy.

Hey Tommy, thanks for all the recognition. Most people don't understand how much abuse it takes to knock an additional .018 off their PB. Although I'm a pretty competitive kinda old geezer, I think I'll be satisfied to let Joe retain that title.
