Just curious as to how bad the Z51 is as to your experience? Thanks.
No not totally screwed, depends on just how much you'll be driving the car and where (highways, side roads etc.), what your tolerances are and whether or not you'll be doing any autocrossing/road course track events or not.
It's really not as bad as I tend to make it sound and you can try to adjust tire pressures to modulate it a bit as well.
It's just that I have driven and ridden in Z51, F55 and FE1 (base) cars and have found the FE1 to deliver the best overall combination of handling/ride quality/cost effectiveness for New Jersey/Northeast roads...if I lived in AZ, FL or southern CA I too would've gotten Z51 for sure.

It's a Corvette C6, regardless of which suspension you choose the car is still a TOTAL BLAST.

Thanks. This will be my first real sportscar so the improvement will probably be amazing from what I'm coming from. In fact I probably wont even notice any problems seeing as how I have never tested any of the others. Thanks for the input.

I take last in the external only category:

13.387 @ 107.01

2005 C6 Z51 MZ6
Borla catbacks only, oh and Drag Radials

Fwiw, 91 degrees, humidity > 50%, sh*tty FL night, new driver...engine too rich?

Btw, I think it would be much easier for you and all of us if you could have the mods move the results to Post #1, so that editing can be done and the results can be checked easily, without having to reproduce the results on different pages.

Thank you for the suggestion I'll ask the mods if they can move the list

I cleaned up this section if you want to use it in the next update, I was on there three times with almost the same mods and a couple mods were missing from my fastest time. If you would rather leave it the way it was thats cool. Thanks much for keeping this list up to date!

I hate to waste a post here:

But, I just want to put everyone on alert that in the Fall after my Vararam is installed and the cool weather comes back....

I plan on moving up in the rankings!

Just a little humor before the weekend and hopefully some better times coming from all of us who represent the C6.

Good luck in moving up the list. I came out of a 30 year retirement to get on the list and plan to rest on those numbers.

Interesting that out of the 20 bone stock cars that broke 13 sec. 1/2 of them were automatics. I thought that m6's would comprise the majority of sub 13 sec runs.

Everyone knows that the typical MN6 driver doesn't know how to drive....

Me too, I plan on staying stock until at least November/December and then attempting to eek out a little more ET/MPH maybe.

The manuals are still clearly quicker AND faster overall IMO, it's just that most of their drivers are not.

It is much harder to drive a manual down the track than an automatic.

The manuals usually trap higher than the automatics.

LT1LS1 -

C'mon, a catback for a little V8 music even though it doesn't help performance will make you happy.

A vararam will gain you a couple tenths and 2mph in the 1/4, heck you would be running 12.2s, maybe even better!!!

I expect someone to make an 11 second bone stock pass when it gets cool. If no one can, I'd like to borrow a car for a few tries

I think it is possible (in a manual car only of course) but it won't be easy, we're still over 2/10ths away and even that pass was a 'one off'.
We're talking LS2s only of course, the mighty Z06s will be raising (lowering? ) the bar closer to 10s stock as well.

I ran Craig on that race. 87 degrees, 66% humidity, 2,521 DA. Actually, we were 7' above sea level!

I'll join in, my result from the same night, my DA was 2,868:
12.66 @ 111.22
2005 C6 Z51 MZ6
Vararam, ported intake NO TUNE (and it needs it), very tall DR's

Bone stock best, cooler night
12.970 @ 109.98

Craig, you're certainly improving! Practice makes a huge difference as you are learning. So does reading Ranger's posts!

I'll add my time. Not the best, but not too bad.

06 Z51 A6 Vert and bone stock my best past was 12.76@110.28 w/ 1.9699 60'. Let the car cool for 2hrs 45minutes before the run. Also only had 300 miles on the car.

Heat Soak kills these cars. Hotlaped or right off the street onto the track I ran 13.0X's@107.8ish stock.
