C6 1/4 Mile Performance Challenge

2006 BASE C6 manual tranny
12.554@115.85 (2.023 60')
Mods are K&N aircharger intake and Corsa Sports
I am very impressed with this car, if it were only easier to launch
It literally spun the 1-2 shift HARD and BARKED the 2-3 shift with authority.
With the BASE gearing I was able to cross the traps at 115+ in third gear
Please enter this car's time on top of my 2005 C6 A4/3.15s

60' 1.993
330' 5.503
1/8 8.33 @ 87.09
1000' 10.756
12.768 @ 112.57
I'm installing a Vararam and hopefully a 160 stat this week and race again in 2 weeks. Hope to have new numbers then. I expect even more from it when it's broken in more.

Very strong run.
Automatic C6s run very well at the track and very consistent.
My four runs today were:
1st - 12.8
2nd - 12.9
3rd - 12.5
4th - 12.7
I was all over the place
I just needed a 12.6 and I'd have a straight.

Damn, I was very close to going to the Challenge event yesterday too.

What was your sixty foot?
That would have made the day even better, hope to see you next time.
I will tell you this, A6s are BEASTS at the track.
They launch well and are very consistent, and as Tony has proved, they even trap well.
I have said this before, 7 out of ten times I think the A6 or A4/3.15 cars will take the Manual tranny cars down the strip.
The 1st 1/8th is all automatic car.
I will say, after the 1/8 the manual car will be closing at RAPID SPEED.
Here are the slip to slip comaprisons:
My 2005 A4/3.15 (catback) vs 2006 Base Manual (cai, catback)
60' - 1.927-----------------------2.023
1/8 - 8.145-----------------------8.246
mph - 89.52-----------------------88.83
1/4 - 12.570----------------------12.554
mph - 110.57---------------------115.85
My three runs in my A4 were 12.99@107.0, 12.90@107.7, and 12.57@110.57.
My four runs in my Manual were 12.89@114.80, 12.91@111.24, 12.55@115.85, and 12.76@115.65.
The 111 trap was when I decided to shift to 4th instead of crossing the traps in 3rd like all the other runs
Sorry if this is alot of info, but I thought it would be valuable to some people.

Next myth to be shattered, brands of headers and header size
Now if I could just drive well enough to get some better times to match the trap speeds.

My car is an 07 bought second week of august. Did my first oil change with 933 miles it know has 1800. It is a 3Lt nav z51 m6. Weather in the low 60s to mid 50s Bone stock.
first run after 2 hr drive 30 min cool was 1.99 60 foot and 12.63 at 113mph. Second run was identical and after a longer cool down best time was 12.53 at 113 with 1.99 60. I only had five runs worst being 12.74.
I did not have a chance to really let the car cool only 2 hrs left to race when I got there coolant temp 200.
Has anyone else experienced rear wheel hop during wheel spin in first and second gears? Felt kinda of weird-none on the street just track.

I ran my C6 Vert A4/3.15 to a 12.57@110.67 with a 1.92 60'
Turn off TC or both TC/AH if you want.
Run it with in between 1/4-1/2 tank of 93 Octane Fuel.
Do a decent burnout by powerbraking to heat up the runflats.
Just stomp it off ide at the light.
Run 35-36# in the front tires and 26-27# in the rears.

With the manual tranny wheelhop is definitely a concern.
You must back out as soon as you feel it.
I find the best way to launch is to slip the clutch and this seemed to bypass wheelhop rather than my usualy style of releasing the clutch quickly at 2000rpms.
My car spun the 1-2 shift very hard, but not enough to cause me to back out.
Get your coolant temps down to the 180s-190s by the time you are at the line, over 200 is a killer.

Also I found the sport setting for the magnetic ride to launch well.
