If one has the 2008 NPP Exhaust OPTION (extra 6 hp), I dont think that should be STOCK. After all, if I put only a Corsa Sport on my otherwise 2007 stock car, what is the difference? Why should my 2007 stock with Corsa Sport only add-on be put in External Engine Mods category and the NPP option is not? I think NPP should be put in External Engine mod category, OR, Corsa Sport (or Borla, etc,) ONLY should now be placed in the Stock category.
Totally disagree. The NPP is an option straight from the Corvette asembly plant. It is not just something you have your dealer install. It is a purpose built factory option designed into the car. NPP should definately be considered stock.
As for catbacks being considered stock....well I disagree there too. It is an aftermarket modification so it should be labeled as a bolt-on. However anyone halfway knowledgeable about engines, HP, racing, etc. knows that a catback exhaust on an otherwise stock C6 isn't going to amount to much, if any gains at the track. You're holding this list in too high a regard. It's not being emailed to the NHRA to be recorded as official stats. It's merely informative entertainment for the forum members. Most C6 owners are not on here and couldn't care less about the list. JMO
There seems to be a notion that if you go to a dragstrip, and see "someone" (who you don't even know) run a XX.X time, then that's how fast the car is! People don't realize that drag racing is like any other sport. There are a handful of really good drivers, a couple of handfuls of pretty good drivers, and a whole lot of pretty so-so drivers.
Kind of like golf - I have read that a very large % of golfers have never broken 100 (I'm one of them, btw). Must be the clubs
i think it's something like 90% of all golfers never break 90.

100%
If the list were to separate the NPP exhaust then it would have to separate things like Z51 cars for their 'added on' advantages (trans gearing, tires etc.) as well, if it's standard or available on the dealer/factory order sheet then it's OEM/stock IMO.
