If you discount the first and last 2 or 3 entries in each catagory as anomalies due to driver skill and/or track conditions it becomes easier.

The LS3's are all either '08s or '09s and are mostly in the top half of each group. You can then sort them out in the same manner you would if you were comparing individual mods.

If you have an '06 m6 CAI tune, it is not comparable to an '07 a6 CAI headers tune 3600conv 3.42 cb ported tb DR even though they are both LS2. Just simply consider the LS3 ('08 '09) as a major mod for purposes of comparison.

It's close between the LS2 C6s and a C5 Z06. But the LS3 C6 walks the C5 Z06 everytime.

THE LIST

Regarding correction factors:
Times are received from all over the country and are not corrected. Because track and weather conditions vary, this list ranking does not, and can not, identify the fastest cars or drivers in any particular order. It only lists the recorded times, regardless of conditions, in order from quickest to slowest. In cases where ET is the same, the higher MPH determines list order.

Well, it's been a while since I went out. I ran a personal best back in December of 2007 (12.03 at 118) when I had some freakish air for Phoenix (255 foot DA). I lost all incentive of going out because I knew I wouldn't run that quick ever again. I did go out twice more in February and March of 2008 and ran around 12.16 to 12.22, which confirmed that I wasn't going to ever break my 12.03 unless we got great weather again.

Well, it's been over a year since the last time I ran. The car is still running great. There have been a few tweaks to the tune and an addition of the NPP exhaust (good for only 6 hp, but it does sound great now!).

The car ran very consistently. It's a 2006 A6 with headers, CAI, and Nitto drag radials. I ran four times ranging from 12.230 to 12.312 at 116.35 to 116.98 mph. Even though those times don't sound that great, it was 85 degrees out tonight and we had a DA of over 3000 feet! These cars are FANTASTIC. I always wondered what I would do against a stock 08 LS3. Well, there was one at the track tonight. It was stock except for a set of Hoosier A6 tires front and rear. The best he ran was 12.66 at 115 mph, so I had him covered. A few more C6's were there, but were running in the low 13's.

I felt pretty darn great being the quickest and fastest C6 there UNTIL I decided to run a new Porsche 911 Turbo. It had the double wing in the back, not sure what model that is, but it said Turbo below the double wings. I got him off the line. He caught me before the 1/8 mile, then just motored by! He ran a 11.3 at 126 mph. I didn't have a chance!

I forgot how much fun drag racing is, the crowds were down and I ran 4 times in about 90 minutes.

If the wing didnt look like that, it could have been a modded regular 911 Turbo with a bolt-on wing. Those do around 11.7's stock.

I can beat either

SIffert, it didn't look like either of those, it was a bi-plane wing that looked like it belonged (very tasteful). But did say "Turbo" under the wing instead of "GT2." I'm guessing it was a highly modded Turbo with an add-on wing just as you stated. There is a shop in Scottsdale that does heavy mods to those darn cars and I'm guessing this one was not "stock" because that darn thing ran a 11.3 at 3100 foot DA!

And Joe G: What kind of times do you run at 3100 DA? That's the beauty of Turbos, they don't get affected as much by altitude.

And a note to the locals: the traction at Firebird was great. I was dead-hooking all night long.

I'll let you know this summer - last summer at 3200 DA I ran 7.470 @ 94.30. That was before I had my FAST and was on a 1.754 60 foot. My 1/4 mile track was closed last summer.

That compares to my 7.213 @ 95.10 @ 789 DA, 1.551 60 ft, WITH the FAST.

That is, assuming my new hybrid C5 triple mount rear in my C6 works out as planned.

I think that's true stock to bolt-ons but once someone all out mod's, I don't know. I think it's a good idea though, easy to read and pick out fromt the list then.

I'm all for the change....I have to drive the c#ap out of my car to get a decent time, and those bigger LS3 motors with better heads just motor on by with the same or lesser mods!

btw-you can figure about .10 for every 700-800 change in DA. So if you cut a 11.3 at +1000 DA, your looking at about a 11.6 at +3100 DA.

That's the one.

Thanks.

Default New PB for the C6 internally modded list 11.03

Saturday morning would of been pretty ideal for records if it hadn't of been for a stiff headwind, but it was still great being 41 degrees with a -800DA... My first run of the day was against another forum member with a C6Z06; I ripped off an 11.034 @ 126.46 with a 1.602 60ft and put 2-3 lengths on the Z06 to boot! Anyone who knows me knows that out running the big boys in the Z06's while still being all NA has been my goal since I started running the car...

Congrats! That 2008 (not '07) Black Z06 was stock on runflats and had some traction/shift issues on Sat. How much HP you running? His best at MIR is 11.02 on runflats, run at my rental there a few months ago. btw-at 10:00-11:00 am at MIR, the DA was around -1,600 with 41 temp, 30.50+ barometer and 50% humidity.

That was a very nice pass Tom. Doesn't getting that close to the 10's just kill you. Wheelhop got the best of me on my burnout and the water left on my tires hurt me on that pass in the 1-2 shift and as my 1.999 60' shows. You still had me if I'd have 1.8x 60 anyway. |We'll do it again sometime
