Thanks, I appreciate the support.

I absolutely agree and I just did a quick inventory on my laptop and have well over 500 track scans thus far. If anybody is looking for any help, tips or suggestions my door is always open (actually that would be my PM box but you know what I meant).

I took my 2008 C6 A6 F55 NPP out tonight to one of the only tracks that is currently open which is 1/8 mile. I just bought the car 2 weeks ago and have only put about 1000 miles or so on it. I was decently pleased with the times I ran tonight. The car is currently 100% bone stock as it came off the showroom floor from the GM Paper Filter to the Craptastic runflats. I was wanting to get some runs in Bone stock before doing any mods to just to have a baseline. I plan to take it sometime in the next week or so to have it dynoed to see what it puts down stock.

I will takes pics of the time slips tomorrow and post them up but here is the run down of some of the runs.

True, but that's a lot more work for Tommy and/or anyone that's following these numbers. It's still probably best to state all of that info once again when doing a follow up or 'time slip post' afterwards....or better yet just wait to make any posts about a track visit/new best until one has all of the info together ready to be posted up.
Just some suggestions.

My first time to post a slip and fill in the format. Please forgive a newbie in advance if any screwups are made.

2009 A6 non Z-51 with 2.73 gears. Tires are stock Goodyear Eagle F1 run flats, 31 lbs in the front 28 lbs in the rears. No mods, no dyno run yet. Race weight 3500 lbs. (was concerned with learning the car not getting an extra .05 by losing 50 lbs. somewhere). 1300 miles on the car, completely and totally BONE STOCK

My trip report will be posted tomorrow.

Houston Raceway Park track elevation 38 feet.......1/16/09.........around 7-9 pm........temp 45 degrees, 57% humidity, 30.55 pressure..........-1541 DA.

___ 60'.............1.924
___ 330'...........5.246
___ 660'...........7.932
___ 660’ mph....93.39
___ 1000'.........10.237
___ 1320'.........12.159
___ 1320’ mph…115.59

This should put me at #4 showroom stock.

Nice numbers.

With that sixty foot and air/DA I'm surprised it wasn't an 11 second pass, based on what some other LS3 automatics have run lately.
Still great for the first time out with the car though.

Did you happen to see a LeMans Blue LS2 manual with a wide booty conversion there running 11.4s (11.3s? ) by any chance?

Congrats on the nice run Guess you knocked me back to #6 ..... Our runs were very close my 60ft = 1.932 330= 5.226 660=7.925 Your 1/8 mile speed was over 2 mph faster than mine.....

My 1000ft was 10.232 and the 1/4 came in at 12.170@ 116.80.

When you get a chance post you how you launched, tire pressures shifting ect....

Congrats again, and its good to see several Bone Stock cars so close together on the list between 12.10 and 12.20.....

Thanks for the kind words everybody.

The LeMans Blue may have been there, but I was pretty overwhelmed with first trip to the track with Crys that I may have forgotten.

As far as an 11........the DA was fantastic, however the track was beyond crowded. Two Porsches got into a race and didn't have a clue when to shut down and they drove past the end of the track and shut down the track for around an hour. So I made my last run around 8pm even though the tracked closed at midnight. If I had made more runs, I am pretty secure I could have made a run in the 12.00 to 12.10 range, but 11's would have been a stretch. Again, please remember these were my first ever runs, and I am still deep in the learning curve. Given more break in miles and more seat time at the track (I drive like a 54 year old on the street) my times would have reflected that. If I would have had a 'pit crew' of fellow Vette owners who could have taught me some tricks of the trade or free quick mods, who knows how much that would have helped. One guy mentioned a trick with the air intake that I did not know about. Then again, I would have launched at 1000 rpm and experimented with the launch rpms. There is so much to learn and experiment with.

Yes, I am dying for a showroom stock 11.999 or better, maybe it is in the cards, because in the Houston area, May to October is a dead man's zone because of the heat, and if we can keep some of this great weather, I may still get it. Before last night my goal was 12.3, but since I learned a lot about the car in the context of taking her down the track, I have readjusted my goals.

I know the importance of setting, then reaching for a goal, however one must always make the goal attainable.

No Marc, I didnt get to run the 11.4. HRP resurfaced the first 1/8 mile of the track and the Tech told us when we got there to take it easy on the launch as it is going to be slippery. Well, it sure was.. My best 60' of the day was 1.79 and my best time was 11.73@120.79. ALmost the 121 MPH but the time wasnt anywhere near what i wanted. The problem was all in the launch...THat run the 60' was somewhere in the mid 1.8xx range, which on my 11.79 previously the 60' was 1.69...

Needless to say, HRP really screwed the local guys for the first part of this season. They say they did it to make it smoother, and to get some good rubber by the National event either in late march or early april..

Everyone I talked to that launches hard said they couldnt get it to stick and they were spinning hard. I tried anywhere from 18 lbs to 24 lbs of air, and no matter what I did, the car would spin....I tried launching as low as 3000 ...it didnt spin, but it didnt launch very hard either (1.88 60')...and anything over 4000 it just spun through the 60'... Very frustrating to say the least.

Launched at about 700 rpms, pressure 31 fronts, around 28 rears, and shifting is explained in this thread.

Maybe I'm not completely understanding you on your statement. As far as I know, there are only 2 showroom stock LS3's on the showroom stock quarter mile list, and from what I have read, there may have been some tuning issues (stock tune, to being tuned, back to stock tune) with one of the cars. Is there another list of quarter mile times that I haven't learned about yet?

Showroom Stock
11.71 @ 119.94 - AndrewZPSU - 08 M6 - (2590)
11.80 @ 118.82 - Gmrulz - 08 A6 Z51, Npp - (3482)
12.10 @ 117.60 - Dingrao - 08 A6 - (3567)
12.16 @ 116.54 - Vinsane112 - 08 A6 2.73 - (2744)

No, this is the only C6 list that matters, on this board at least.

You do raise an interesting point about some of the controversy and averages though.
I was basically referring to this one here:
11.80 @ 118.82 - Gmrulz - 08 A6 Z51, Npp
But he did cut a better sixty foot as well so your numbers might actually be right in line with what most automatic LS3s might run in good air with that kind of sixty foot. Over 3mph trap speed difference as well of course but there could be various other reasons (break in miles, wind conditions etc.) for that and you did have at least one solid 117+mph (practically 118) pass as well.

THE LIST

Regarding correction factors:
Times are received from all over the country and are not corrected. Because track and weather conditions vary, this list ranking does not, and can not, identify the fastest cars or drivers in any particular order. It only lists the recorded times, regardless of conditions, in order from quickest to slowest. In cases where ET is the same, the higher MPH determines list order.

Default Stock C6 Coupe

Went to the test and tune at S. GA. Motorsports Park in Cecil this past weekend. There were not many cars there and you could run just about at will. I ran about 14 times. Finally had a best of 12.845

Here are my two best runs.

60 2.2 2.1
Time 12.845 12.875
Mph 111.94 114.77

Also had two other runs at 114 MPH but with poor 60s and times 13.1 on both of them. It sure was fun. Hope to go back this weekend and see if a bit more control on the gas leaving the line will be helpful in staying out of the 13s.

What whp does it take to get into the elevens with 342s and 6 MN?
