Third, prior actions to this lists, I don't care what's going on with other list, precedence shows that a larger than stock displacement motor was allowed in a different catagory that had no mention of displacement. Fourth, yes I am a super hero, I ride around the Chicago South Side on a unicycle made from abandoned C6 parts hurling hand granades and injustice doers. I was thinking of an LS7 swap for that. Fifth, I am not one to just accept a reason for something just because. I don't think the rules could be any clearer, since it has no mention of limiting or changing the displacement, it is allowable within that catagory.
yes your thinking is right there are always loopholes over common sense, here's another one for ya you can buy a stock zr1 with the charger all stock maybe a crate motor from gm, the zr1 is in its infancy do they follow the c6 list, know they are above us now they have a bone stock list bolt/on list internal mods list now a power adders list, but they have a power adder stock, so the power adders list would exist of changes to the charger other then stock, so why cant i take the crate motor with charger and put in the c6 and run the stock class, just common sense that wont fly

I was unaware you were against this too...I would like to see this issue revisited as well. As of now, 10 of the top 15 bolt-ons are LS3's after around one full racing season.
i was always against the LS3 LS2 on the same list, come on its a bigger motor, 30 more rwhp its like a mustang 6cyl going against a v8

the rules or classes doesnt say NA for class 3
Classes:
1.) Showroom stock
The way it came from the factory, stock tires, air path, stat & etc.
You may add or decrease tire pressure, have as much or as little gasoline as you like

2.) External Modifications Bolt ons
As defined in LS1TECH.com

3.) Internal Engine Modifications
Head & cams
Engine packages

Let's be honest here, there will never be classes that are totally fair. We (on this forum) consider an otherwise bone stock car to be modified it if has non-runflats on it - even if they are worse tires than the factory tires.

I ran my 2005 convertible with nothing but a B&B axle back exhaust and got lumped in with full-bore "bolt on" cars. I probably had a whopping 5 more hp than stock.

Maybe we should have different classes for different drivers weight classes....150-175, 176-200 etc.

How about verts versus coupes? And let's not forget that Z51's have different gearing in the manual trannies (and even more if they have badges).

Okay, I feel better now

From post #6 ,where you find the rules, this statement exists:

The List is not about the fastest car. It is about keeping records of results posted by members based on specific combinations. If it were about finding the fastest, then the times would have to be corrected for weather and altitude conditions, all parts would have to be verified and video as well as time slips would have to be provided.

In any event it can be utilized as a reference tool as there is a wealth of information contained herein. The list serves as a good way for other Corvette owners to gauge the potential performance based upon modifications done.

On post #1781 by Tommy D: he stated "Please remember this is for FUN"
Let's not forget this IS Tommy's list.

---------------------------

Obviously we ALL don't agree. But when mcv on post #782 ran a 10.76 with a 414 ci motor in the internal list, you responded on post #784 saying "great time nice car"
When rddo41 on post #662 ran a 11.68 with a 403 ci motor in the internal list, you posted on #663 saying "great time..."
And even sheesnaz on post #3740 ran a 11.43 with a 416 ci LS3 motor in an '06 coupe on the internal list.

Why did you wait until now to speak up in opposition to what has existed for a long, long time? Already there are 3 accepted to the internal list with non-stock displacement motors and they each indicated the size, which is precisely why subfloor fits that catagory.

We aren't discussing all the other internal list rules. Just the ones on this list. Rules, for the most part, define limitations. There are no displacement limitations on the internal mods list, nor are there restrictions against putting camel dung in your crankcase. If you want to change the rules by changing the limitations, you'll need a well thought out presentation that doesn't include phrases like "it's just not fair", to convince the majority.
BTW, keep in mind that we are not striving for parity here.

Also Dennis, I want you to know that I've not singled you out here, as there are others who share your feelings, but it just happened you had posts that fit the topic of discussion at this time.
whats wrong with being nice and saying nice run, that doesn't automatically confirm you agree are those times you quoted the stock block, they haven't reached the next available cubic inch of the zo6, i see plenty add their times everyday that are not in the top spot
here's how the list was in its infancy a lot of classes, it has been changed since then, i guess its time for a change

The Internal Modification list has allowed different displacement motors, you even showed appreciation to one person who made it with a LPE 403cui motor.

Then again on page 40 of this thread with MVC's time you said great run.

Then again in post 3750, somebody with a stroker motor made the list again.

This is starting to look like a witch hunt. So when was this ever a LS2/LS3 Stock Displacement List? Where were your cries of unfair then?

didn't i answer that in post 3929, how about this have him submit it in LS1TECH or digital corvettes and see were it gets put, why do you want to attack me, i am simply voicing my opinion, and i have my spot on the list, i am friendly with christopher, and have know problem with him personally, and if a new spot is created for him i think whatever ones you mentioned should be moved there also, so know there are more in his class, do you have a problem with that, if so why

Submit it to what ever other list you want, my only concern was with what this list does, since his car clearly fits the rules established for the internally modified class, and since other non stock displacement cars are on the list, you cannot disqualify him.
i don't discriminate east coast west coast, i don't know about central and mid west first and foremost were racers, i have always complained in PM and about LS3 LS2 in the same class, so my complaints about that situation is truly unbiased since i am on the top of the list and don't feel threatened the LS3 hasn't affected me

Its funny that we are all aguing about this and the person who origionally posted this has not said a thing. Where are you Subfloor? He's probably getting ready to modify the LS7, we should wait to put him in a list to see if he does internal mods or external mods or ... ????

THE LIST

Regarding correction factors:
Times are received from all over the country and are not corrected. Because track and weather conditions vary, this list ranking does not, and can not, identify the fastest cars or drivers in any particular order. It only lists the recorded times, regardless of conditions, in order from quickest to slowest. In cases where ET is the same, the higher MPH determines list order.
