Typical sub par German engineering Both women came out of it ok, it was really a hard hit with both of them moving towards eachother.

Iam driving this crappy rental dodge magnum, I want a Vette back!

To try and stay on track with this thread, if they total Iam thinking of a used 06 A6.Sounds like the Vig 2800 converter will be out soon, then headers, Vararam and tune. You think this combo will do better than my 05 A4 at 11.80's?

Those were separated out quite a few months ago, there was some unrest and it became a bit of a hassle to manage so those few that were listed were removed.
I think they have their own list in the Z06 section though maybe?

I think it should!! but only time will tell. with the lower gearing it might have traction problems. with the higher stall it might go first to second so fast, that your not going fast enough speed yet, and lose transfer and spin more.

Yeah Iam really tempted to just get another 05 with the tried and true A4, but I will make sure to get the 3:15 gears this time!

Sorry to see that a Mercedes took out your Vette. Really glad your wife is OK and it sounds like you have a great attitude. Man, the Vette really won that fight, the Mercedes looks a lot worse.

If you get another Vette, remember the A6 in third gear is equivalent to a 3.92 gear ratio. Get the 2006.

To be honest the A6 I drove felt like crap. I have been racing at the track with several and it seems like they all run low 13's at best. Look at the top fast cars in the external mods list, the fastest A6 is number 10 on the list and its running a 12.15 with no converter.Thats probably what my 2:73 A4 car would run without my converter, actually I got 4/10ths from my vig 2800 but still its right there. Iam just not sold on the A6 right now. Damn if this would have happened a couple years down the road I would be getting a Z but I just cant swing it right now. The Z would solve the problem of wife driving my Vette, she wont drive a stick

Yes, I do.
I like the Vig 2800, it's a great street converter but it still rips at the track.

Give it some more time, we need to see some more well modded, properly tuned A6s first to know for sure whether it's the real deal for going truly fast or not.

The A6 tranny has an awfully tight factory stall. I can only brake stall mine to 1500 rpm. A converter should do wonders to the A6 equipped cars.

They do run better than low 13s. Mine ran a 12.65 with just a tstat. The problem with most guys is idling in the staging lanes. The PCM takes out lots of timing when the IAT get warm.

Thats kind of strange, my car actually runs faster hot, especially if Iam hot lapping it on a slow day at the track.

If you are hot lapping your IAT is probably cooler than sitting in the staging lanes idling. Or even with the engine off the IAT starts to rise from radiated heat from the engine. Until you get some flow back to the mass air body, as happens when hot lapping, the IAT will be warm. With stock programming timing starts to come out at 86 IAT. By 113 you've taken out 7 degrees.

Here it is:

CORVETTEFORUM.COM C6 Corvette ET Rankings

Times are received from all over the country and are not corrected. Because track and weather conditions vary, this list ranking does not, and can not, identify the fastest cars or drivers in any particular order. It only lists the recorded times, regardless of conditions, in order from quickest to slowest. In cases where ET is the same, the higher MPH determines list order.

Absolutely true. I verifed it with HP Tuners. My buddy's C6 Z06 with cai had 152 air in the staging lanes, my Vararammed C6 had 93. Ambient was 84. By 80 mph he was 94, by 100 I was ambient.

Just look how much timing is pulled with a stock tune. That is why, IMHO, the vararam is so effective.

I didn't see the times for the Z06s in their section. Are they completely gone?
