Today, with a little coaching, all five other Corvettes owners making passes got new PRs. Our club now has five stock C6Zs on stock tires running 11.55 or better. The Chevy spec is 11.7.

I've got a sneaky suspicion that Ranger is coaching his fellow C6Z owners!!!

Also, did a little coaching of an owner of a stock 2007 C6 Z51 M12 on his first day at the track. Set his PR at 12.74.
He also managed an amazing display of 1st gear wheel hop, lasting about 30 feet and at least 60 hops. I was astonished the CV joints remained unscathed. Indicates the 2007 axles are stout.
BTW. His rears were set to 25, adjusted before each pass. Fortunately.... At 30 psi he'd have gone home on a rollback.

Ranger what PSI would you recommed on the stock F1's? I see you mentioned 25psi, is that what you ran while using the OEM tires on your 06 Z06?

Getting decent launches on stock tires starts with dropping the rear psi to about 25. Lower than that starts the computer nanny on the warning message path. And 25 is probably low enough, lest the rears begin to cup.
I also have found that the rears will hook better the launch and 1-2 shift if heated by a burnout. properly done, burnout is worth about a tenth on the 60' and a some on th 330'. Both help the ET.

OK, so can we fly you out to Phoenix to coach a few of us at Firebird????
Good air at ETown yesterday. Threw on some DR's but I didn't 60 any better than my best street tired time, 1.918, but I added them to the mods anyway.

12.48 @ 114.4 mph and a 60 foot time of 1.934. That's on a "standard" C6, and street tires. Not too shabby with CAI & 160 Thermostat.
Very nice on both of your new bests.
I almost came down to watch the Pro 8 but had too much to do 'round here, I would've liked to see my fellow A6ers run new bests.
Did C5pilot run too?

Yes, he ran. Had his best 60' but didn't better his PB of 12.41. He was only running the Corvette Challenge, which was pulled after the trophy marathon guys went, so he ran later than I did. The DA was great -800 to -600 when I ran so I think Joe would have also had a new PB had he run the same time I ran.

Ranger, Thanks for all of your help. I am sure that I would have gone home on a rollback if it wasn't for you. You really know your stuff. I would never have done as well with out your help. In the excitement I may have misquoted my time, it was actually 12.840 @ 112.98mph. How do I get that on the list of et's? I am working on the launch and not flooring it right away.

Understand your excitement. Quite a performance for first time out. And thanks for correcting the ET.
Regarding inclusion in the list, posting your car and pass data in this form, will give the TommyD, the list master, what he needs for the next revison of the fast list.

You're quite the lucky one getting actual live advise/coaching from Ranger while at the track ...congrats on your new best.
I ran 11.49 @125.4mph in z-51, 6 spd, run-flat shod, convertible at Richmond during the Carolina Auto Masters challenge on 2/27/07. The car has a custom cam, tune, and exhaust done by Carolina Auto Masters in Durham, NC. Those guys rock!!

CAM is great. I hit 12.05 awhile back on just headers, mild cam and tune from them on run flats and it was < 47degrees that day, so the tires were like glass. I'm hoping for mid 11's next time at Rockingham,I have a FAST installed now, but there must be something about that VA track, I'm always hearing low numbers from there, I may have to go give it a try...you got directions?
BTW, I'm planning on hitting Rockingham again on April13th (nitetime races) if you're interested, I'd like to meet ya there.

Nice traps! That must be one hell of a cam. Any specs?(PM if you want it kept secret) I have a similar setup, + 4:10s. But I don't think my driving skills will get me to where you are.

Better than most stock Z06's. Not knocking your performance but it appears that you must have had an exceptional 60's to get that kind of number.
