Default c6 08 Halltech Killer Bee

I just ordered a 08 Black Coupe with the 6 hp exhaust system. I'm pretty much a purist and do not want to cut and holes or make any modifications that will void the warranty. So the question to the experts out there is how is the Halltech Killer Bee? Does this require any cuts or holes drilled? Also anyone notice any real gains that would make it $500 worth?

Thanks, Jeff

Welcome to the Forum. I have a new '08 coupe, and I am thinking of the same thing. You do not need to cut anything. I am looking for some increase in responsiveness and low end grunt; the increased HP at 6000 rpms will not do me much good in street driving. But it "looks nice"......

You don't need to do anything, But it will work best in combo with Carlo's Vette-Air scoop. The scoop will do nothing to void your warranty, but will stuff lots of cool air up into the intake area. Minimal cutting necessary. He's got some good package deals going..

I built an insulated cold air box around mine for plenty of cold air...

You are looking for 4.10 gears. They will give you what feels like 50 hp and boost low rpm performance. There is no outward sign that you ahve done a mod to the car.

That aircleaner is worth 15 or so at peak on your car but little is down low and it will hardly be felt. Most dealers have no issue with exhaust syetem modifications. Check with your dealer and they may say no problem with long tube headers which you will feel. LG's are especially good for the street since they make more ow end TQ.

A ported Intake manifold is good for 10rwhp and is invisible.

I have it on my 08 along with the Magnaflow exhaust and the LS3
Vette really loves the airflow. Easy install with no cutting.
Next item will probably be headers in the spring.

Hello Jeff and congrats on your purchase, you will not have any regrets.

There is no need to cut a hole is you are only installing an open element filtration system. Power can be felt in an instant, these cars need to breathe to make more and efficient power. Like Mr. Modshack suggested, you can feed cooler air into your killer bee with the vette-air; the scoop turns your bee into a wasp

But, if cutting a small hole is not your cup of tea, then we can still offer you the Killer Bee at great shipped price. Please visit:
www.vette-air.com or feel free to call me at (214) 491-8314.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Carlos

Would just cutting the hole for the Vette-Air provide cool air to the air cleaner compartment?
