I Have The '08 C6 With The Factory Exhaust With The Paddle Shift, Does Anyone Have A Chart In Which They Can Send Me That Has Their Best Time In Switching Gears And At What Rpm. For Example From Gears 1 To 2 Shift At 5.5 Rpm. I Know Its Something I Have To See For Myself, But Im Just Curious If There Are Any Tricks To It For The Paddle Shift That People Might Know Of. Thnx.
I don't have any of that info, I tried using the paddles at the track on two occasions and it was a disaster, hit the rev limiter, late shifting, short shifting...I only use full automatic 'S' mode now.
They are fun on the street/highway though.
Because of your and the trans reaction to the paddle shift I tried it at 6000 rpm, which worked out okay but any slip up and you will hit your rev limiter. Best way to shift at the tracks let your auto tranny do the work.

I never could get the hang of the paddles, i would up or down shift at wrong the rpm and or speed.

I just leave it in S- mode.
I KNOW IM GOING TO FEEL LIKE A TOTAL IDIOT RIGHT NOW, BUT ITS ONLY BECAUSE IM NEW TO THE PADDLE SHIFT. BUT WEN YOU SAY I LEAVE IT IN S MODE YOU MEAN YOU DONT SHIFT GEARS IT WILL DO IT ON ITS OWN ONCE IT RED LINES? I THOUGHT WEN YOU PUT IT ON S MODE THAT MEANS IT ACTIVATES THE PADDLE SHIFT AND IT NEEDS TO SHIFT GEARS MANUALLY?

Nah don't feel like an idiot ....but no, putting it in 'S' mode does NOT mean that you have to then use the paddles, it merely means that you can now use them (it's the only way to access the use of them actually) if you want to.
That is one of the great parts about this awesome A6 (6L80) transmission, you can put it into 'S' mode and still be fully automatic yet you will also now have a more aggressive shift program/slightly firmer shifts/better performance and paddle use (if you so choose to use them) is just 'a touch of either paddle' away.
I have not tracked my car with paddle shifters yet, but I have found that there is a large opportunity to learn paddle shifting with my C6.
At first I wasn't too impressed with them, but now, after the driver has learned quite a bit, I LOVE THEM!!!!!!!
I encourage you to use them a lot. They are really fun, and once you really get a feel for them, like after several months of continuous use, they offer pretty much everything a manual shifter does, IMO. And I was previously a manual shift kinda-guy. Then, go out and put Bullets on, and enjoy the sweet music.........
I somewhat reluctantly bought an A6 due to the (sweet) conditions of the deal I got, but if I went out and bought a new C6 tomorrow, (and I can't believe I'm saying this) I'd get another A6.

In S mode it works like a normal auto trans or you can use the paddles.
Once you use the paddles you have to shift out of S mode and back for it to work like a auto trans again.

Exactly my experience. On the track I simply could not beat the computer.

Put it in "s" and ONLY hit the gas, NO Paddles, you won't beat the computer, it is faster, more consistent, more reliable, and you DON'T MISS SHIFTS. You can hold the brake with the other foot to about 2k or so rpm's then hit the gas when you release the brake. Works very well with this transmission. The C6 auto has beat the manual in autocross, but the manual has beat the auto in road racing (Corvette Quarterly, Spring 2006, p. 22-26).

Nice summary, and I would concur. I have not yet learned the paddles yet after 6 months, but will continue to use them.

Luv the paddles. I use them all the time except for drag racing. I still think if you can get it down the paddles with give you the best et at the track.
