I installed my new vararam intake yesterday. The only problem I had was that I had to trim the shroud a little more than the trace out pattern showed. Other than that it went on pretty well. The shroud wasnt the easiest to get out and back in, but there is room to cut it out in the car. just didnt want to take any chances on damaging anything.
I was very impressed with the difference after the install. Very noticable difference in acceleration. Cant wait to get headers and a tune now!
installed mine yesterday too on my ls3, instructions were lacking and i had to "trim" some of the hoses as the lengths were not correct. have not driven it yet though. hope it seals well as my top mox had a little bit of a bow in it, yes it was installed correctly. thumbs up to you
I installed one on my LS2 with the throttle body spacer. Went real smooth. I had to trim a little extra also. I didn't have any issues with the MAF not fitting with the spacer
Really pleased so far. I'm a little paranoid about how the two halves seal but I worry about everything!
I think it's funny that every single thread I have read about a Vararam install the OP says he has to trim the shroud more than the template indicated and that the instructions are lacking. Yet they are still shipped with the same instructions and the same template. Can someone explain this?

They don't care their not putting that damn thing in. It unbelievable that they can't at least get the easy part right!!!!!!!!
Has anyone installed a Vararam, on a otherwise stock LS2, and had the "check engine" light come on ? I have a, not yet installed, Vararam and TB spacer, and am getting paranoid, about that, since I've seen a few posts indicating that has happened. Apparently it can cause a "too lean" situation, in some cases. -- I'm a long distance from the nearest "Tuner", so it could cause a problem for me. -- Am I just too paranoid ??? -- --

I did my own install and had it on the car for about a 1000 miles, not one time did i see a light. If you take your time with the install you shouldn`t have any problems what so ever.

-- Thanks -- Guess I'd better get it on. -- Sorry, I didn't mean to "hijack" the discussion, re installation. -- --
take your time with the install and prepare to get a little aggravated if you plan to remove the shroud to cut it, its kind of a pain removing and reinstalling, but its well worth it in the end
