Update on PAL
No iPod jack, no Bluetooth and the they wonder why people buy a Lexus, Infiniti or Acura, not mention BMW and Audi.
I want to apologized to Gene for getting so excited, he is just trying to keep us informed and my frustration came out.

IPod is kind of primitive in my mind. My current daily driver has a small formfactor carputer mounted in the trunk emulating a CD changer and plays FLAC (losslessly encoded as opposed to MP3) music while displaying the song titles on my radio/head unit. But if I buy a Corvette, there's not much hidden space in the trunk to mount such equipment. I'd be happy to go with an head-unit integrated Ipod and the MP3 encoded music in the 'vette.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
As always Gene has good and up to date info for us.

I've never heard a factory head unit/speaker combo that actually sounded good.
And if your car is loud or you are driving fast there is so much noise anyways that you can hardly appreciate the nuances in the music. Then you turn the volume up and the tiny cheap amp inside the HU distorts the music even more. Factory head units are for people who don't care about those things and just want to hear something on their commute to work.
ALSO, the Corvette is a very poor choice of car if you want to enjoy good music; it has a big loud engine, wide howling tires and a stiff frame/suspension that transfers tons of road noise to the thin fibreglass shell that happily resonates with it. The only time you are going to hear really good music in a Corvette is when it is stopped, and if you don't turn it up too loud otherwise the body panels will flex and make noise themselves.
So then your choices become; blow some money on an aftermarket unit that will sound a lot better, though you won't be able to appreciate it very much because the car itself masks a lot of the music.
Or put an exhaust on it and enjoy what you have
Me, personally, I have GHL exhaust on my car. It is loud and I like it. I want to get a Pioneer D3 for it for the navigation though. I listen to music on my car once in a while but I think the quality sucks.

speakers. Oh well, I just added Kooks headers...now that is sweet music to my ears!
