Belt / Pulley Squeal
I bought my first Corvette at the end of November (less than 2 months ago). It's an 05 C6. So far, it's been in the shop 5 times. The side lumbar in the driver's seat had a leak, the driver's window wouldn't go up after you closed the door, the Bose Stereo has been replaced (twice) and now I have the dreaded squealing. The belt has been replaced THREE times since I've owned it. They replaced the idler pulley last Friday, and it started squealing by Saturday night. I just talked to the dealer, and they said this car has had issues since new. The harmonic balancer was replaced at 4,000 miles and the power steering pump had been replaced at one time (all due to squealing). They said GM's suggestion was to re-align the pulleys (not sure how they'd do that). I have a feeling I'll be taking it back for the same reason soon. Anyone else out there have this problem that just wouldn't go away? What was the outcome?
