Is the steering 'column lock' over??

...my '06 MN6 does not have any steering lock, the steering wheel is always free to turn regardless of the car running or off and parked, if GM removed it on the '06 I would doubt they put it back on any newer model.

DAY-YUM! That's why I got rid of my C5. Even with the column lock bypass, I still got the warning message on the DIC, in spite of several trips to the dealer. I recently bought an 05 model. Have there been any issues with the column lock on the C5? I've got an automatic.
