I used Mobil 1 also at my change. I saw a thread that asked about other brands but saw no definitive answer. Even WallyWorld carries their brand of 100% synthetic, so what REALLY isthe difference? Syn is Syn, isn't it? It's not like the really cheap dino oil that may be re-refined, Syn HAS to be 1st run Syn, right? This is asked by a guy that DOES NOT know, hence the question.
Regards,
Don
Mobil 1 and change per car computer recommendations, or more frequently if you don't drive 6000 miles per year.
We just had a local trucking company and Volvo dealer loose a multi million dollar law suit against Volvo (18 wheeler types) because they did not use the recommended oil. They had over 50 major engine failures and had trucks down all over the country.
It seems Volvo had hundreds of similiar units in service with virtually no failures, when the operators used the recommended oil and change intervals. The trucking company is bankrupt as a result.
I have used Pennzoil in every vehicle I owned for 40 years but I switched to Mobil 1 to assure no warranty issues on my 07 Trailblazer SS (LT2 Vette Engine) and my 07 Vette.
Anyone on here use redline? I was buying 5 quarts of 10-W30 for my 2006 Lancer Evolution for it's every 3000 mile oil change, and when I told the store employee the redline's been in my motor for (Only??) 3000 miles, he told me that people usually leave that stuff in their cars for 15 thousand miles at a time! I changed my oil that anyway.
