check engine light question
2007 a6 with 7,000 miles had oil changed at dealership at 6,00 miles
i just had a pioneer avic d3 installed with the bypass to play dvds while moving
now my check engine light came up
my cig lighters arent working anymore im taking it back to the shop tomorrow to see have them fix it that happened right after the install
is the check engine light because of this
or my car was in drive with the car turned off and the e brake pulled for about 30 to 45 min on a slope did that mess anything up? dont ask why it was like that
what should i do?

Did you use the appropriate chime module e.g. Peripheral GMAHCM. This provides a signal to the computer that says the audio system is okay. Don't know if not using will trip the CEL though.

tmak26b is right. You need to run a scan on it and check the code, otherwise you are just guessing. You can buy an inexpensive OBDII code scanner ($50) and do it yourself or stop by any Autozone and they will do it for free. The scanner will also allow you to clear the code and see if it resets.
