Question? Why is so important to be under 3000 lbs? Is this a race car, or street car? If your building a race then I understand your motivation. If it's a street car, why would you sacrafice all these items for a few lbs? My cars weight on a scale was 3123lbs. dry, before any mods. Options 1lz, Z51 manual. It's an 05 with a forged 427 making 525rwhp. Plenty of power for the weight of the car. And I think mine is a stripper. Straight pipes! A little noisy driving down the road I would think. I guess if your looking for the ultimate in weight savings you'll get there with the items you mentioned and the suggestions from others on this thread. I'm still in the dark as to why. You know if you make enough power it woun't make much different how much your car weighs, and you can have all of your comfort items. It's called having your cake and eat it too. Just my opinion.
Because to me I would enjoy not having those comfort items in a stripper but thats just MHO. If I wanted big and comfertable I would of got a 300C SRT8 that thing is huge and very comfertable. And with work it can reach the 700-800hp level with all the comfort you want. But for me i'd rather have a stripper car thats one of the many reasons I got the vette. Another reason is the look on several $100,000+ mercedes owner that thought that with enough power you dont have to worry about weight until I blow by them in a car with less power.
In my case, these are the C5 Y2K thinspokes in the 18x9.5 rear fitment. Had one pair widened to 10.5 in for use on the rear with the 305s. These wheels align perfectly to the fenders front and rear. Again, rears weigh 10lb each less than the 19s with F1 SC runflats and fronts are 6 lb less each despite having 275 tires vs the 245 stockers. Needless to say, the car handles like a ballerina.
How about taking out the passenger seat all together. That should save some additional weight.
That's the budget method but a lot of people simply don't like the 'unfinished' look of only one seat and also a lot of 'street car based' track events/series often require two front seats so they'll often go with two matching Corbeau seats or something.
