By "open any parts", I guess you mean he doesn't want to remove parts that do not needed to be removed?

Well you have to remove at least part of the exhaust system, the exhaust manifolds can stay on the car and maybe the cats, this I'm not positive about.

Then you must remove/lower the rear end/tranny and and torque tube all as one unit after unbolting the torque tube from the bell housing, then you can remove the bell housing to get access to the clutch.

The first time is always the longest to do, but a good garage with a few helpng hands should get everything done and back together in a day or less.

My advice would be go to a shop familiar with the C6 or a dealer or invest in the shop manuals.

By "Open parts" I meant exactly what you said.

The good thing we have all necessary tools for that including manuals and web access to GM but the problem is i dont know what is wrong with GM's website the server has some kind of maintance and it is giving me some headache, i hate to see my car stopped there without anything done on it....

Thanks for the help...

to change the clutch
you need to remove the backword tires
then the differential
so fore sure you will remove the Cutback Xpipe ( all the exhust )
if you installed headers ,, it need to be remove ,, if Manifolt
you only remove the 2 pipes from the manifolt to the X pipe
and then you remove the Shaft
after removing all of that you will be able to change the Clutch and the Master Cylinder if you want
,, if you are going to change the clutch ,, change the master cylinder too
because to change it you will need to open all of that

working hours
i would recommend that if the guy start working in your car without stopping ,,,
he need not less then 3.5 hours
i would say half DAY
