Default Performance mod questions.........

Just had a couple of questions.........

First-
Can a performance tune take the between gear lag out of the high RPM manual use of the paddles on an auto tranz 07?

Second-
I am lusting to add a CAI, headers, stat, and tune to my car. I just can't quite get past the power train warranty issue. Just wondering how you guys rationalize that, so I can start to brainwash myself into the same thinking. Do you........
1. Say screw it. It's only money. If it breaks, I will pay to fix it.
2. Say I won't worry too much about it. It is no more likely to break with the mods than it would be without them.
3. Say I think I can take the car back to stock before I take it in for warranty work and GM will never know.
4. Say I think I can argue enough with my dealer to get them to fix it under warranty anyway.
5. Say I will get the performance shop that does the mods to give me a warranty to replace my original warranty.

I am leaning towards number 1.

The likely hood of you breaking something in the powertrain with those minor mods is unlikely, unless you are just beating the crap out of your car on a continual basis. I would say you are safe and in the remote chance you do kill your engine or transmission, I would just put it back to stock and have them tow it to the dealer.

A tune wont help the shift speed...it may shift harder, but the lag will always be more than desirable.

I can't see de-modding a car and returning it to stock just to defraud the dealership and GM. People that do this are thieves....it's stealing plain and simple.

I think modifying a Corvette is great! If you want to modify your car be 'man enough' to be responsible for your actions. If you're that concerned about the likely loss of vast portions or your factory warranty, don't modify your car or wait until your warranty expires...don't be dishonest about it.
