Procedure For Changing C6 Radio
What is the procedure for installing a radio cd player, head unit. Do you remove the old one, install the new one and then tech 2 it ? or tech 2 it before you install it?

I installed a Pionner AVIC-D3 with Bluetooth, Ipod cable, Sirius and remote on my C6. It installed just like any other car stereo and took a few hours.

If your changing from a single disk GM radio to the 6 disk GM radio you will have to Tech 2 it since they are programmed to the VIN. I recently did this and it is a fairly simple swap.

As I understand it:
*If the GM radio is used, you will have to hook up the car to a Tech 2 and do a VIN relearn on the radio _after_ installing it.
*If the GM radio is brand new (*never* powered up in a car before), it will learn your car's VIN on 1st power-up, and no Tech 2 is required.
(at least this is how it worked for other 2006-2007 GM vehicles I've worked on...)
Of course, if you are putting in an aftermarket radio (Pioneer, etc), no VIN relearn is necessary.
