Compared to other EMTs, they're the clear winner from a purely performance point of view.
But compare them to high performance standard design tires... there's just no comparison in overall performance if you include ride, handling wet & dry, noise, less weight (actually helps suspension performance), and especially cost.
The F1 SC EMTs are hard, heavy, and outrageously expensive. But the worst thing about them is availability. GY's customer support for this tire is absolutely awful. When mine wear out, I'll be putting a set of KDW2's on.

GY gs-d3's were my first choice
but they do not make a rear size that will work. Ps-2's are a great tire
but are going to wear quicker. Consumer reports needs to stick to wash
machines. Anything with cars, and they Have NO clue. Easy to tell by
reading their worthless reviews.

The good years work well but are expensive and last 15000 miles. I'm on my third set of fronts and second set of rears. This thread is of intrest because I need to replace all 4 soon and 2000 is a lot to spend if I don't have to. What are better alternatives for 15000 miles per year of mixed driving?

I've had GS D3's on 3 different cars, and always enjoyed the non-runflat versions tremendously.

vettl83 - Could you please report back about ride & handling performance of the GS D3 Runflats after you get them installed and have some miles on them? I would love to hear any thoughts you could share in comparing the GS D3's to the stock runflats, since they are both Goodyear products.

I just hit the wear marker on the SC EMTs, 9600 miles, 5 track days, and probably around 50 passes, but no burnouts.
I have KDW2's on my daily driver, and I absolutely love them. On a quarter circle street near my house I drive daily, my Protege actually can hold a greater speed than the C6. This is with 225 size tires all around. The C6 starts pushing at about 65, the Protege won't push until 70. They are also holding up very well. I drive incredibly agressively with the Protege, and have about 15k miles on them, and still tons of tread left.
I don't doubt the PS2s are a better tire, but for the cost, I could buy another set of rims and tires for the track. I'll be buying the KDW2's for the street soon. Then I'll be turning what's left of my EMTs to smoke.
The only other tire I was considering is the Nitto Invo, but from what I've gathered, it isn't as grippy as the KDW.

I was checking out the Nitto Invo's too, the only problem I found with em is the fronts 245X40X18 had a W speed rating and the rears 285X35-19 had a Y speed rating. I don't think thats a good match.
Now the new Toyo's look promising with a Y speed rating for the front and rear. Might check em out on Toyo's website, their reasonably priced too at less than 1k for the set of four.

Hmm need Y, gumball rally is coming through this part of the world again this year. You can bet I'll be chasing down those guys again come August.
Which Toyos were you looking at? How did you get their price? I guess I could call one of the local dealers. The T1R I would guess, treadwear of 280 which is about the same as the 300 of the KDWs. Were you able to find any reviews on them?

This is what I have and they're great. Got about 20k miles out of them and need to replace 'em. Not sure what I'll get now - PS2, KDW2, or another set of the Kumho's. May just come down to price as I got the Kumho's installed (set of 4) for $741 from Discount Tire about 3 years ago.

Too bad Fuzion doesn't make a 285 for the rear. I had 3 sets of Fuzions on my Trans Am WS6 and they were positively fantastic in the rain. Here in South Florida, during the summer we might get 5+ inches of rain in an hour or two.
The stock GY Supercars even when new, scare me in the rain. They seem to hydroplane much more.

C6 Runflat (EMT) alternatives
Think more of you should at least consider Firestones. They have an tire engineered specifically for this application. It's certainly comparable in performance and priced lower than the OEMs. I think ride quality and tread life are better than the Goodyear OEMs. Check Tirerack for reviews. We are happy with a set. Still suspect OEMs are the best cost no object overall compromise, but Firestones are quieter, and seem better in the wet. Happy motoring.

Yeah but a lot of us want to get rid of runflats. The super stiff sidewall and the extra weight hurt performance considerably.
I am tempted to try the Toyos, look like they might be something that can hold its own on the track and still last a few miles on the highway to and from the track.
