A6 Shifting Problem
I was hoping someone can help me on this. I used the search but didnt come up with any specific information.
My fiance's father has a 06 A6 vert. I was driving it the other day and noticed that if you are cruising at ~40MPH and you floor the gas peddle, the transmission seems like it shifts into neutral for a few seconds before engaging the lower gear and going. I was wondering if this is a common problem with the A6 and if there are any TSBs about it. It may seem silly but a few seconds at the point are an eternity when you want to pass someone. The paddles work fine.
This is my speculation. It almost seems like the transmission is going to downshift, but decided it didnt want to, then decided it did want to and went back and forth until it made it to a point where it would engage.

The '06 &'07 A6s do have some quirks. I have not encountered your particular problem, but had Chuck @ Corvettes of Westchester tune my A6.
He did fix a lot of the A6's shortcomings, better paddle response, better all around performance, improved shift feel, less lag etc.
