I know others have been effusive about the merits of the MGW shifter and I am here to confirm all the praises. Installed it yesterday, buttoned the console back up and went for a ride to test it out. It is truly a marvel. I had a hurst in my C5 and it was a great shifter, but this MGW beats the Hurst hands down. Short, precise throws and smoo-o-o-o-o-o-oth. And did I say smooth??? I was ready to be impressed with all the positives on here, but it is beyond my expectations.

Where can I buy one of these for my Z06? I want one badly. Thanks for the info.
I switched to the MGW after using a Hurst and here's my take.
For pure competition use, the Hurst has quicker, more positive shifts with a shorter throw. For a race car this is the one I'd use. It's WAY to noisy for everyday driving though.
For a daily driven street car, the MGW is the shifter to use. It shifts very smoothly and you get a positive feel in each gear. The throw is somewhat shorter than the stock shifter but not nearly as short as the Hurst. The MGW is quiet and about a million times better than the stocker. Even novice drivers shouldn't miss a shift with this shifter.
I now own a stock shifter, a Hurst shifter, and a MGW shifter. Which one will I keep in MY car? The MGW.
