Okay just came back from my maiden voyage with my Vigilante 2800 converter and while I was their, I had my intake and TB ported by Formato. All I can say is damn, this car feels wild now. Great driving manners which was a big deal to me and when you mash that pedal it may as well be an on/off switch, the tires just get anhilated and the car unleashes. That's the SOTP report, now for the real factor TRACK. What do you guys assume it will run. I am being optimistic and hoping for 11.4 - 11.5's.

I have the same set up as you. My car runs 11.4's at 119 mph.
When you A6 guys are drag racing do you shift w/ the paddles or leave it in drive? I've never driven a new A6 so I don't know much about all the settings.

I can't speak for all of them, but most that I see post put it into "S" and let it shift its'self. TC off, "S", and point it straight. I'm interested in seeing how this converter works out. Haven't heard much buzz for an A6 converter yet and was on the fence until one came out and was tested by the "guniea pigs"...lol.
Atomic...you're running 11.8 @ 115 , right....most converters are good for .3-.5 off the et, if you use it to cut into the 60ft. After the launch, it shouldn't affect the times, but if it allows you to cut 1.6-1.7 60ft, you're in good!
Evilways, I will try to get as much detail for you as possible, so you can make your decision. Like I have mentioned in other threads I am currently running a 25.6" tire that is too short and causing some massive shift lag at WOT and I literally cross the finish line with my nose down as the vehicle goes into an even bigger shiftlag and attempts to shift into 4th. Even like that I got an 11.98, so I will go out their with the same setup for comparison purposes and until I get the programming corrected.
The times I quoted was with 3:45 18 BFG drag radials, 315 gears, 2800 Stall converter, 1 3/4 Melrose headers, BPP Vortex CAI, Tuned, SLP cat back and ported Intake.

Once in 3rd tap the down button to keep it in 3rd I have trapped 125 many times doing this, I have short BFG's.
Whats your rev Limiter set at?

You should get about .4-.5 et improvement with that 2800, zero pump. As tight as these factory converters are maybe even more. Assuming you have your programming right. I got about .7 improvement with a 3600 Vigilante, #7 pump, in my 98 Camaro.
Will you be able to disable the launch TM? I have found no way with my factory converter.
This is what I am curious about. What 60 foot times are the A6 guys putting down w/ a converter? Or is the Torque Management killing their 60 foot.
I'm putting down 1.61 and 1.62's consistantly on a sticky track with 345 18 BFG drag radials. I'm also running 3.15 gears with a 2800 stall converter. I hope this helps!

Doesn`t sound like its hurting too much if any at all. I ran 1.50 60`s w/ a 4000 stalled 2.6str, 3.73 geared Fbody w/ 400rwhp. So I would say w/ that small a converter it is not hurting it. Thats good to know...
