Had many ( mcloud, luk gold series, texterala ) hated them all. In my current 05 C6 With a forged 427 motor making 525rwhp/500rwtq I'm using a balanced LS 7 unit. I have no problem holding that power. I will admit, that it's a street car a daily driver, and will never see a track of any kind. So yes it's traction limited, and 1st and 2 nd gear at WOT are useless. So it's a road car not a drag car. But for daily driving and WOT in 3rd and 4th it's great. It's smooth in traffic no chatter nothing. Anyway it would be my recommendation for street driving even with the power I'm making. I have no issues.

Guys, please post your comments to drivability as compared to stock, pedal pressure, chattering etc.
I'm sure most of us have different expectations.
Thanks,
When I replaced my C5's clutch I bought a C6 Z06 clutch, flywheel, etc from Gene at GMpartshouse. It was very smooth and handled the H/C engine easily. For less than $500 it was a real bargain! I will do it again when I replace my '08 C6 clutch (hopefully in a few years).
I put a cam in my 2008 Z06, and almost instantly started having problems with my clutch slipping in 3rd and 4th, so when I hear that people are putting an LS7 clutch in their car, I don't know why they are not having the same problem?
From my limited research, each clutch has a positive review and a negative review, so I haven't decided on one yet. For example, one guy will say that Ram or Tex.. is the best and then another person will say that same clutch sucks.
I drove my friends C5 with an Excedy twin clutch, and it almost took both my legs to push the clutch in .
If you can hold off a little, get the twin disk Sacks clutch that is in the ZR1. The Sack's office is down the street from mine and the clutch guy there told me that it is a bolt in.
I had bought a ZO6 clutch kit from Scoggin Dickey, but the guys at L.G. said it was too heavy (and it was), the RPS is lightweight and STOUT! Pedal feels good and stiff, but that's the way I like it-just make sure you replace the clutch slave cyl. when your in there.
I guess someday my poor stock clutch will get tired of the 5300 launches I keep giving it so I'm interested in this thread too...
Here's some information I've made note of from friends who drag race:
My shop recommends the RPS (that Schilit has) but I've seen one of my friends who drag races a lot like I do to rebuild his 2 times in 2 years (400 rwhp)...so that scares me. He's currently using a stock LS2 clutch he got used for free and loves it. Two other buddies (one races much more than I do with 500 rwhp & gets 1.4's 60's out of it, the other has 600 rwhp on NOS) have the Textralia and that seems to be holding up very well for them. But my buddy with the 1.4's said he has to pump his clutch pedal to eliminate sponginess after the runs just like I have to with my stock clutch. Another buddy (440 rwhp) has tried a Spec but that didn't work out for him at all so he's gone with the LS7 clutch and loves it.

The LS7 is the way to go. CARTEK put their "Level 8" clutch in my 05. It's a beast. Dave starts with the LS7 then mods it. Give them a buzz.
There are lots of varying opinions on clutches, that is for sure! Here are mine.
I had two RAM's that were bent when I got them just enough so they could not bemounted to the flywheel. The second one my balancer got to work by making one of the mounting holes bigger and he got it to balance but it ate itself in <1000 miles. So I'd never touch another RAM. I ended up with an LS6 clutch (on my old C5 prior to the LS7 clutches being available) and it held up to my A&A ATI kit pretty well.
SPEC's have a reputation for chattering your teeth out but their + line has a different disk that seems to quell that significantly.
I have never heard anything bad about RPS or Cartek other than the price.
I can't say I've ever heard bad about the Textralia line either.
McLeod twin disks tend to eat themselves from what I've read.
