Default Thinking Cam

06 Z51 6 spd.
Driven daily with lots of highway miles and some city.
Looking for performance mainly but streetable.
Any and all advice welcome.
Car has headers, Cats, K&N and tune.
Is it a waste of time?
I admit I miss the old muscle car days and the sound of a good cam also.

Go for the heads and cam. I had a Cartek 3X package(check their site for specs) and the car was completely streetable. In fact I drove it from Phila Pa. to Nevada/California ...raced for two days and then drove it home. With the proper tune you can have a very radical daily driver. I now added a supercharger and while my car is not a daily driver I will put about 12K miles on it this year.....Go for it

think of this pkg-
afr205's
90mm fast intake
thunder racing "cheater cam"(215-230)
ud pulley
this pkg will give you 450rwhp thru your m6 & be very streetable.
i actually have this whole pkg for sale brand new in boxes
-$3500 shipped(my car is for sale)
includes-belts,pushrods,bolts,gaskets,upgraded springs for 650'' lift
afr205/cam/pulley pkg-$2900 shipped

Is the price $3500 or $2900? How much for the FAST only? What would the average install price be for the entire package? Ready to buy some performance mods now, either supercharging or H/C.

At one time my LS2 was simular to your's. Kooks, magnaflows, 160 stat, stinger intake, and a tune. With a 224/228/581/588/114LSA cam made 410rwhp/394rwtq. Added a FAST 90 made 425rwhp/405rwtq. Finished with a set of ET 215 heads, went to 461rwhp/435rwtq. It was a daily driver. 62 miles roundtrip to work highway everyday. It idled with a slight lope got 28.5 mpg. no issues. It's still my daily driver even with a forged 427 in the car making 525rwhp. Still goes to work everyday. Gets 25.5 mpg Ides in traffic. no issues. With the technology today you can have your cake and eat it to. Go for it!

A ported FAST might be a good alternative first step. Good HP gain and no impact on driving quality.

How does this compare to the 'cheater' cams? I would like something a step up from cheater with lope but not too aggressive with suitable drive ability.

It is a significant step up. +10* duration on the intake; -2* on the LSA.

That cam is tunable for daily driving. Lope is function of idle speed. If you get too much lope, raise the idle speed to 800 - 850 rpm.

RevXtreme are in Tampa on the west coast, if that helps. I haven't sold a lot of Monster cams, but have sold over 3 dozen Whiplash cams, if that is any indication of what is popular.
