Default ABS Codes

Anyone know of a way to pull abs codes on a C6? I know in a C5 you can pull the codes from the dic, but that method does not work on my C6. Does anyone know of an inexpensive ODBII reader that can do it without buying something like a TEk2?

I am having problems, after driving my car, usually under heavy accerlation, the ABS, Traction Control, and BRAKE light goes on.

There are several inexpensive scanners available. You need to make sure they are CAN capable. Actron sells several versions. I think one is available at Walmart. The one I have is an Actron 3130 (if I remember correctly) came from Amazon. I paid under $200 for it. I live in Chandler if you want to stop by I can read the codes.

Thanks for the offer, I actually found one at autozone. Hopefully this will help me diagnose the issue. Although it wasn't the cheapest, $299

Understand this is a long shot, but I have all the same codes. What was the solution? I am wondering if it is the battery.

These codes are all related to the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). And I agree that this may be a long-shot, but the suggestion to clear the codes & disconnect/reconnect your battery is a good start for unusual electrical situations with the C6 (and be sure you have a strong battery to start). If they return, then a visit to a shop that has experience with EBCM problems would be in order.

Keep us informed when you find the solution & good luck.

Codes aren't stored, and clear once the ignition is off. I have cleared and power cycled as you suggested. I'm thinking this is going to be a gremlin hunt.

If you haven't already done so, you should disconnect the battery then pull the electrical panel cover off on the passenger floorboard and open the blue connectors to check the pins, clean and reassemble to ensure good connections. These are known to cause hard-to-diagnose electrical problems. Obviously check all under hood fuses and ground connections as well. Also, locate the EBCM and pull & clean that connector. I believe it is located on the driver-side under the power steering reservoir between the engine & radiator.

Screaming corrosion in the EBCM connector pins, that pulling and cleaning the connector and EBCM pins may solve.

As for rear wheel sensor, they go through the C184 connector that is behind the battery on the passenger fender wall (same with pull, clean and reconnector to solve corrosion problems.

All,

If you disconnect/reconnect the car battery, do not forget to reindex both windows:
