Anyone else receive the care package form George? Yesterday I recieved a package with a replacement shaft in it. I have not called George to see what is going on, but I will. I sure hate tearing into the console again and getting the damn switch connections undone. A real pain in the ****.
I got my 25% OEM **** compatible shifter from MGW in Feb. I did receive an adapter to lower the shift height, but that also occurred back in Feb. I have not received anything more recently.

read the enclosed document and you will see why it was sent out. there are some pretty siginificant upgrades to the shaft and the material on the pivot ball has been changed to a high temp poly blend made up for us by dupont.
i know it is a pain but you REALLY should replace the shaft as soon as you can. the poly ball in the current shafts should be fine but we have had a few instances where high heat has cuased them to slip on the shaft. hence the new design.
also we have altered the center shaft design to actually allow the dust boot to snap into a groove LOWER on the shaft which allows the oem rigid inner boot to sit a bit better and really seals the tunnel from cabin noise.

If you are careful it can be done without disconnecting wires. I did my reinstall this way. Another tip is to tape the front of the ash tray door with painters tape to hold it closed. Mine came open when bumped which put the top on the bottom I didn't notice it and got some minor scratches on the door from the shifter shaft.
only those that have the pivot ball design not the pivot CUP design need them but if anybody wants the new design shaft they can call julie or peggy and we will be happy to send you one.
George,
How do I know which one I have? I received my shifter in late January. Also, I had e-mailed you in mid/late-February asking for one of the new machined cups for the pivot point and you said you were sending one out, but I have never received it.
Thanks.

George I bought mine in late January. I later recieved the redesigned pivot cup for it. Which version does that make mine? Is my version fine or should I or will I be recieving a replacement shaft?
By the way George, this is one outstanding piece of customer service you have going on here! You deserve some type of industry award. Thanks.

I'll keep that in mind, but I am happy with my shaft as it is.
This explains the UPS shipping notice I got today.
I was a little perplexed when I received a UPS shipping notification today from MGW. This must explain it - no real problems w/ mine except a slight buzzing from the stock **** on HARD accelleration. I won't receive my new piece until 3/27 but when I do, I'll install it and see how it goes.
I just received my shifter; was shipped out by you guys on Tuesday. I presume we all have the new design ? Thanks, really looking forward to experiencing your great unit.

I pull the console to the passenger side with the wires in place without any issues.

You must have longer wires to the switches than on mine. I do have to remove the auxillary plug connection and the Active Handling connection or it is going nowhere. It will only move about two inches with those two attached. The Lighter plug connection is also a very short wire that only allows very little movement. You are lucky to have the luxury of longer wires.
