Bench racing is never good for accurate numbers... You have to go out and do it. Another example is I trapped 123 at sac on a day when JBs car trapped 122. Yet I dynod 402whp and he dynod ~450whp.
DA conversions will not take into account many variables that can effect a 1/4 mile run, but records are made in cold weather and you WILL run faster in better weather.
I don't know what the big deal is here. This is a forum where most of us sit in a dark bedroom in our underwear posting under a "forum name". If you don't like your times, just go ahead and correct them. It's like golf - if they didn't want you to cheat they wouldn't put an eraser on the pencil
Only one problem my friend, by Dec 2008 whose to say you'll still be the champ...
Gota go to work...
i do and we can make it 2 out of three or six out of 10 my car hotlaps very well. 11.47 aint beating 10.92 in any da we both have had 000 so lets make it a pro tree, like you said before it takes no skill to run an auto, when i do a 1.45 60 ft and leave so hard on you you will choke spin then miss 3rd you know im just joking the best part of racing is the smack talking

Never being one to back away from a challenge to prove or disprove a theory, I'll take it upon myself to test the DA question.
Not that it's a great feat and one that will surely be bested, but I presently hold the #5 spot on the bone stock list. So I do have somewhat of a reputation to uphold, for what little that's worth.
I've made several dozen passes in the past 2 months in Phoenix at a track that is usually well prepared. I've recorded all my times and data from a professional weather station that is located less than 2 miles from the track. I have a ls3 a6 with a vararam and a mild tune that allows WOT starts with no spin. The car and myself are consistent within .07 seconds using a correction calculation for consecutive passes without changes in equipment or driving technique.
For testing purposes I'll make a minimum of 3 runs on April 5th in Phoenix assuming no rain. I'll post the results here and include the 1480' elevation and weather data. With no changes other than fuel I'll drive to Atco in time to run on April 15. Dennis can observe and verify times and we can find the closest weather station to do the corrections.
It can't get any better than that. What say you all?

We'll wait til we see your times before we decide whether (weather?) to believe you or not

Wow driving across the country to test DA... now that IS wild!
Tom the helmet is waiting, but wish you could use a portable track side weather station, 2 miles uphill or down can make a big difference
Exactly. Weather data taken from a weather station approx. 2 miles from the track is of no value. It will tell you what the weather conditions were approximately 2 miles away, but not at track side.

No, because there is no way to accurately do it.
Traction (or lack thereof), wind conditions, one's inability to properly adapt to the new/different atmospheric conditions, you can only get a remotely rough estimate.
Oh and btw, this thread will turn into a raging sh|t storm in approximately 10 posts.

Speak for yourself My computers (desktops and laptops) are in well lighted home office areas. So too, why bother even wearing underwear in your bedroom? Finally, thats an interesting "forum name" you have...am curious as to what your real name is.

I'm leaving Phoenix on the 9th headed east in a CR. If your path crosses mine, let's stop for lunch.

Paul Johnson is my real name - most people just call me "PJ"
