I'm getting ready to order the Stinger/Aggressive "cat back" system for my 05 M6.
Found new from a non supporting vendor for 974.95
Before calling I want to get this part number correct. For the 4 round tips per Borla's site is #11744 w/#18 tips. The other system on Borla's site is #11746 w/#29 tips, I'm assuming this would be for the Z, correct?
Thanks, I've been putting this off for too long now. Its time to hear something other than road noise.
That's a good price for the exhaust but I don't think it's a "cat-back". It's an over the axle system that connects to the stock H-pipe. You'll like the sound regardless.

Yes, your exactly correct. I had the Borla's on my C5 and loved them. Thanks
On my 2006 M6, I went from stock, then tried NPP, then tried Flowmasters, and finally went with the Borla Stingers with X-pipe. This is the one I'm keeping!
I also had them on my C5 and loved them. I should have known to just go right to the Stingers on my C6!

Is yours a DD? Mines only driven around town once or twice a month due to out of town business. So I'm kind of looking for something loud enough to frighten people walking on the sidewalk Are they as loud as they say on the C6?
I have Borla Stingers. #11746 ( Stingers w quad oval tips W X pipe.)
I love them and paid $1200 shipped. I later Purchases LGLT's and they
come with a different X pipe. I love those also but now I have a Stinger X pipe sitting in my Garage. Probably will sell it.
I bought the Borla Stingers S-Type Split Rear Cat-Back system with Four rolled round angle cut tips from a non forum vendor. I love the sound, and am very pleased with them. Huge improvement over the stock exhaust. If interested in where I purchased, you can send me a PM. I had a local classic car shop install for about $200.

LOL... I don't know that it would frighten people on the sidewalk, but people turning to look is not unusual. It is my DD, and in fact my only car.
The advantage of the Stingers isn't that they are just 'loud', but the *quality* of the sound is great. I love going through the gears in town just to listen to it. On the highway, on long uphill sections at low RPM, the drone can be a bit much after a while. But on other sections, its a good deal louder than stock, but not excessive.
Stingers are definitely *much* louder than stock, but if you are really just looking for raw 'loudness', I think I would just go to the muffler shop and have them replace the mufflers with straight pipes. I have also heard that the Bullets are even louder, but I don't have direct experience there.

Stingers are definitely NOT even close to being quiet, but if you are really just looking for basic 'loudness', I think I would just go to the muffler shop and have them replace the mufflers with straight pipes. I have also heard that the Bullets are even louder, but I don't have direct experience there.
I procrastinated for a LONG time about what system to get. I, too, had Stingers on my old C5, but was reluctant to get them on the C6 due to the expense. However, I'm very glad I finally decided to go for Stingers on my C6
IMO, the volume level of Stingers is PERFECT for a daily-driver (which mine is). It's aggressive enough to sound mean, but not obnoxious and just about quiet enough not to upset the neighbours when I pull-up to my drive late at night. Any louder, and I think you'd have issues on a daily-driver in terms of upset neighbours and headaches on long drives.
The volume level of Stingers is very controllable using your right foot... drive with a just a whiff of throttle and you can barely hear them. However, drop the hammer and they really howl! My fuel consumption has dropped by 5mpg because I now can't resist hanging onto the lower gears just to make some noise! Sounds amazing over about 3.5k. Definitely turns heads. In fact, I've JUST got back from a gas station and had a complete stranger come up to me and compliment me on the car (I'm sure he heard it as I pulled up to the pump). He didn't know anything about Corvettes, but we had a brief little chat.
